Mortal Kombat (spoiler alert)....

Watched last night and this morning. Good fight scenes. The hero is a MMA fighter with wife and teenage daughter. He is the son of famous Japanese ninja, who is murdered by Sub Zero along with rest of his family. After a fight, Sub Zero comes after our hero, Jacks saves him. Jacks is defeated by Sub Zero. Jacks tells her to go find Blade, a special forces partner of Jacks. Comic relief by Nano, a Aussie mercenary murderer. They all go to the temple to prepare to fight the dark side for control of earth. Finally the earth do good ers get to fight the evil underworld. Dad comes back from he'll to help son defeat Sub Zero. Earth is saved again. Fini.

which nailed the "so bad it's good" formula (also nostalgia seriously helps it). The only thing the new one does better is the over-the-top violence. The whole thing was pretty boring, I thought.

Turned out to be a good flick as you said it was, but nearing the halfway point I was ready to toss a coin as to whether to continue.

It surprised me too, although there's still much I hate about it and don't want to see any more of Snyder's take on the DC universe. But, it's actually watchable which is something the original theatrical cut wasn't.

That “ninja” was Scorpion, dawg, and his only living heir was his daughter. Cole was a few generations down the line.
And you calling him Jacks instead of Jax makes me wonder what kinda gamer you really are.

Reading this write up of the movie was hard. It's like I asked my mom to watch it and write a brief summary on it. Almost as embarrassing as tiny arms Jax.

So the guy couldn't even beat Ramirez or whoever that dood was at the beginning but then all of a sudden chopped down Goro. Na Dawg, not having that.

Allow me to give a better review of the movie.

It sucked. This was confirmed by one of my besties who watched it.
The original MK movie was better (I guess.... better because Sonya was played by Veronica Vaughn (soooo hotttt) from Billy Madison. Plus it was the first PG-13 movie that I saw in the theater.
The initial back-story between subzero and the fighter who became Scorpion was pretty cool. Otherwise movie was boring.
A few corrections from your review.... The main character is generations upon generations removed from Scorpion. It's Jax instead of Jacks. It's Kano instead of Nano.
