but the day before a week off for thanksgiving,

Then coming back to work for 3 weeks.

Then 2 weeks off for the holdays.

they decide teachers needed more time off and make that switch on the fly? I heard some school districts were going that direction this year.

we are trying to move to year round scheduling.

Which isn't actually year round.

You get a week off each quarter which would give you 3 weeks off for Christmas.

You come back 2 weeks early in the summer but you have more days off during the year.

glorious. Start mid July, off for two weeks in October, Dec and a week and a half in April, end at the end of May. Super nice going on a vacation to a tourist trap and it not being crowded because everybody else was off too.

Standard school scheduling sucks.
