Last year, someone asked Tony Elliott who calls the plays.

Nov 8, 2022, 2:07 PM

Tony gave a vague answer about multiple people being involved.

Has anyone asked Streeter - or better yet, Dabo - who calls the plays?

I would be curious to know the answer.

not allowed to question anything unless we're 4-4 or 5-3

think they forgot we were 5-3 last year and our offensive problems are the same over a year later.

when dabo said he knows there are issues. okay so why not fix them? a year later and still the same tired issues..and one could argue these issues started showing up in lawrences last season here

Because you can't fix physical things, i.e. speed, except for with recruiting.

or portal, but it's more than JUST the talent.......

Nov 8, 2022, 2:53 PM

yes, we've had a BIG talent drop off and now we've compounded issues with lack of offensive staff, OC, & some may say DC personnel.

Doesn't matter who calls the plays if you don't have the

personnel to run them. We had problems w/ all phases of our game last Saturday; offense, defense, and special teams.

Dabo is sitting on the sidelines with a play sheet so safe to assume that he has veto power and holds sway. Our D has been able to keep us in most games which allowed the O to get warmed up. The D did that for the 1st half. 2nd half was a complete $hitshow. When DJ missed (2) consecutive throws in the flats I turned to my wife and said Uh-Oh. It happens.

This is a problem that dates back several years.

Nov 8, 2022, 3:10 PM

Blaming talent is a weak excuse for two reasons:

1. We have recruited outstanding players the last few years.
2. It’s the coaches’ job to develop that talent and put them in positions to succeed.

If our players on offense don’t fit the scheme, why not? Were they recruiting misses? Did they not receive good coaching? Did the players not put forth enough effort? Are they not able to grasp the concepts?

There has to be a reason, and regardless it’s on our coaches because they are provided everything they could possibly want and need to be successful here.

Did Dabo not take full responsibility for the loss? There

are problems and our head coach has spoken to them.

Don't have time to fall down the "JK knocking all things FB" rabbit hole. But, I do have (1) question, not FB related:

What has been the problem with our BB team...lack of coaching, or developing players?

Brad doesn't make enough money

Fans don't pay enough money. Assistants need more money. Facilities need more money.

Basketball’s problems are as follows:

Nov 8, 2022, 3:52 PM [ in reply to Did Dabo not take full responsibility for the loss? There ]

1. We have one of the worst basketball histories in the ACC.
2. The program is not funded as well as most other programs in the ACC.
3. Brad is not a great recruiter, and hasn’t been afforded the luxury of hiring the type of assistants to help with recruiting like we need.
4. We don’t have a home court advantage most of the time.

On the flip side, our coaching staff and players work their tails off. You see them punch above their weight class regularly. You see most players improve over the course of their careers.

And yes, Dabo did take full responsibility for the loss. That’s great. We will see if he can accept the fact that the loss isn’t the problem, but the concerning trends in our program are.
