We have seen on many occasions where TL16 was inside the 10 yard line and ends up scampering untouched into the end zone. We also have those plays where TL16 throws a perfect pass for a TD.
My point here is that is seems that TL16’s mobility and willingness to run “loosened up” corner coverage, maybe even just a by a single yard, just enough separation for TL16 to make that throw for a TD.
I’m not a coach, but just as a casual observer, we’re witnessing subtle differences in the resulting failed execution from DJ5 that are not being coached into him, following on the successes that TL16 demonstrated under these same conditions.
Sorry to keep ranting on about this. It was quite a long walk back to the car through the heavy fog & cigar smoke of NC State fans, leaving me still traumatized by what I saw from the Clemson offense, that was a TRUE OFFENSE to any Clemson fan.

What you are seeing is a Pro Style Quarterback running in an un-adapted system with very little protection.
We did not have the greatest of O-lines under Kelly B, but more times than not (more times than DJ thus far) he made it work. Him being mobile was of a far greater advantage than him not being able to pass under average O-Line play.
Not a Kelly Bryant fan nor the way he left the team, but what I am saying is the defenses have figured out that our O-Line does not run block very well and our quarterback is slow as Christmas

Pro-Style? Even the pros are making changes to the type of quarterback they draft and the type of offense they run.

Spot on. I've posted this before as have others, yourself included. We have failed to design an offense to fit dj5. Square peg in a round hole.
I thought last year when he played we were just protecting him from running. He needs to be in a pro style drop back passing offense. I hate to say it but wouldn't shock me to see Cade take over and DJ transfer. I hope and pray that does not happen.
I have to trust there's been communications to this from DJ and the coaches and DJ wants to become that dual threat. Dunno.

In hindsight…maybe would have been better to recruit a QB that already for our system than bringing in someone not well-suited.

and he can't be expected to run the exact same offense they ran.
It is the staffs job to tailor an offense around DJ's strengths rather than trying to make him adapt to what the coaches want to run.
They have to put him in a position to be successful. If the game is still too fast for him right now, then slow it down for him by minimizing some of the decisions making required on his part.
It still looks to me like DJ panics and gets happy feet when his "hot read" is covered.

Two downs to get 5 yards. QB rollout pass/run option should work. No need to for all of it. Get the five yards and have four more downs.

I am not sure what happened with Ross I thought the guy had his arm but he did not make any holding motion towards the ref. Game over does not matter we just need to win this week and get on a roll.
