LaSamuel Davis should have a good year next year...

Our D-line was good this year, but lacked speed. If Davis has gained enough strength & knowledge during his RS year he could be a real weapon for us.

While I think Davis will be a good player, he's not going to be the best player we've ever had at his position like Cornell Powell will be.
I'd be happy if he was tho.

Physically looked ready, only one ball and lots of guys ahead of him, he will take advantage of his turn

Yeah, just didn't need him this year, & he will benefit from not being forced into playing time.
The only time he got in for real PT was against GT, & he had a 14 & 17 yard catch for 1st downs. I think they were on 3rd down too.

Davis may get some time, but Austin Bryant will be ahead of him too.

I agree. But on passing downs & against a more mobile QB Davis will be a weapon. He has great speed & acceleration

You've seen as much from Kelly as you have from Davis, so what makes you think it will be Kelly? Just based on Davis being undersized?

Davis wont play until 2018 and will be situational imo.
Saying we had a lack of speed after watching Ferrell come off the line is a joke btw.

No it's not.
Cleiln is not slow, but strength is his main weapon.
While CW played well, he is not a DE. We had success collapsing the pocket, but we didn't have a speed rush & got smoked on counter plays a few times because of lack of speed.
@Prime, I'm not sure who he will take snaps from, & that's a good problem to have. I just think he's got elite speed that those 4 don't have, & I think it will be utilized.

Did he gain 50 lbs or something?

He looked like a Twigby last year.
Needs 40 lbs of muscle and maintain his quickness.

He was at the parade and looked much ticker to me. Little hard to tell with the baggy Clemson gear the players were all wearing. I don't know where he will fall on the mix, but I will be interested to see how much weight he gains by fall.

You could be right about that, but I hope he's learned the playbook & they find a way to use him this year. He's like a missle on film.
