Last night at my sons 7/8 year old basketball practice we played dads vs kids. Dads had 10’ goal and kids had 8’. I haven’t had that much fun in forever. We were supposed to be done at 7 and we went all the way to 8. Kids ended up getting bored with it all so us dads/coaches played 3on3, kids just shot and ran around the gym. What a blast.

I thought it was a good idea by the coach and to be on the floor with my son and then his friends, whom dads are my friends, it was amazing. Great great idea.

Greenr is number 10. I spend most of the time running up and down the court giving instruction/encouragement, but occasionally I play with them. Blocked one kid out of instinct and immediately regretted it. I love running the court with them.

Unfortunately we went from BY FAR the best team in the league last year to maybe the worst. Our U10 team is nothing but 9 year olds who just moved up to this league this year, we may score a basket or two every game, if we are lucky.

kids split up and draft the coaches onto their teams. Topten rocked one out over the lighttower, I felt like Dale Murphy out there. We laughed the whole time.

Also, right in the middle of the season, we replaced baseballs with tennis balls one practice, even for a scrimmage. Kids loved it.

Coaching coed 6-7s....

Practice starts first week of January. Coaching my nephew's team with a friend. His daughter is on the team and I know everyone else on the team. Looking forward to it!

8 foot goals...I'll probably smack some to the sidelines!

I actually didn’t but my bud Nick sent his sons shot into orbit and we all laughed extremely hard. This one dad is a short tiny man body builder and he dunked and I thought he was going to be buying a new goal.

I am so tall I had a hard time under the basket. I was constantly scared of smacking my head against the backboard.
