It's simple. They're beginning to know people sick, in the hospital, or dead. They won't believe CNN, but when Joe next door goes into the hospital with covid, and is on a vent, the whole neighborhood, those who ignored CNN because they thought it was political, pay attention. Heck CNN IS political. And that's part of our problem. When you sell your soul to politics, and lie enough, and people stop believing you, when it becomes important to tell the truth, no one believes you.

it does not tell the whole story. And yes, I believe the white Americans who are choosing not to get vaccinated are more right-wing. But the statistic still stands. Right wingers choose not to get vaccinated and they are universally and vocally condemned and mocked. Black and Hispanic Americans choose not to get vaccinated and there is silence, or questions as to why we are not better serving those communities. Young people aren't getting vaccinated...silence? I don't know...I haven't heard much on this.

feeds them what they want to hear. It's big money. So when something happens that forces people to leave their media-educated bubble, they are resistant. They have their source for information. It's Fox, OAN, Newsmax, or CNN, MSNBC, ABCCBSNBC. And they really believe what they are fed from their preferred news source. If they have a certain political view, or world view, or whatever, they're in that camp. Period. They tune in to what they like to hear.
Sometimes...... what you don't want to hear, is the truth. And what you want to hear, is a lie. And it's hard for them to disengage from that or understand they've been duped. Human nature 101.

But thank you for giving a perfect example of someone who deals in absolutes. You can drop the number of deaths by 80 maybe 90%. But since you can't stop it totally, why bother with the vaccine. If it only improves your chance of not dying from it 10-20%, why bother, right?
But you also can't stop people from believing CNN or Fox News or politicians.
Have you ever heard a politician tell you something you don't want to hear? You may say yeah, a Democrat. But that Democrat is telling Dems what they want to hear. Trump tells Pubs what they want to hear. Now.... Would you go to a doctor who only tells you what you want to hear? Would you use an accountant who only tells you what you want to hear. Would you watch news that only tells you what you want to hear? Would you consider yourself healthy, financially secure, or well informed? So if you vote for a politician who only tells you what you want to hear.... (dem or pub) Are you well led? Are WE well led?

I Travel through S.C and N.C visiting many industrial plants with thousands of employees and have not heard of a single person being sick with COVID or delta . Have 2 nurses in the family one at Greenville and one in Spartanburg ( neither vaccinated and won’t get it ) and they both say hardly any cases at the hospital. Also have not heard of one person with the flu in the last year , go figure .
Not saying COVID doesn’t exist or can not be very bad for a few people but it is not what they are trying to make it out to be .
