Baptist Mens Brunch. My griddle is in the garage, so Red and I pulled the table in the backyard into the driveway. We were the talk of the neighborhood. Pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, biscuits from bojangles, coffee, mimosas, and about 14 bottles of bourbon. Everyone got there around 10 and the last person to leave left at 6. Great fun. Safe to say, I got Stuffed at Baptist Mens Brunch. Credit to @ryanadidas

I was born in Vermont so I can’t stand that colored corn syrup. I mean how often does one actually eat something that needs syrup to have to use fake syrup? One bottle of real maple syrup lasts over a year easily.

--This photo was taken after all food had been plated. So there was leftovers
- eggs look plain and overdone
--eggs are plain, just salted and peppered. Not overdone, just some char from the griddle.
- hash browns look plain - do they have onions in them? Cheese? - no ketchup?
--again, they are plain. just frozen hash browns. This was the least concern of my meal. Ketchup doesn't belong at the breakfast table.
- pancakes look good - UDP syrup
--pancakes picked up a ton of char from the griddle. The syrup is elite.

second...no sheet...I see one round of bacon on the plates...are you really saying that you find the amount of reserve bacon on the baking sheet sufficient for 4 grown men? again...your head should be down in shame. Seriously, what are we even doing here with performance like this?

been consumed. Easy mistake to make though, because making assumptions is bad. The gentlemen at the table had been eating by the time I finished up the hash browns. I cooked an entire pack of bacon and 9 sausage patties. Thats enough pork for this meal if we had any intention on sharing sausages later.

not nearly as good as Simply Potato shredded hash browns...especially for the griddle.

I did make my own hash browns a few weeks ago and they weren't too hard. Peal potato and grate...then put the bowl of grated potato under water and rinse and empty a few times to wash the starch off and then squeeze all of the water out. Then grate onions and squeeze it all again and let sit in colander for a while to drain more.
They were good, but not noticeably better than the Simply Potato shredded version, so i'll probably stick with using those.

I think next time I will use cheese cloth and spread them out more for extra drainage. I salted last batch in colander and got decently crispy results.
Also used a heavy cast-iron press that I moved around while cooking that helps a lot.

that onions make a lot of things a lot better.
Now...the onions are finely grated, so you don't have bites of just onions (not that this is bad either).
Honestly, if you don't order your hash browns, at a minimum, scattered, smothered, and covered, I'm not sure we can speak on the subject with each other.
