I think Dabo may have gone overboard stating that the worst

Jun 12, 2012, 5:59 PM

thing Clemson could do would be to join the Big 12. What happens if we actually do join the Big 12?

So they bash us in recruiting because we're going to the Big 12, and they bash us because we're in the ACC.

Seems like a dilemma really. I feel like in the end, it would even out as far as the "bashing" goes.

he has a point..lets say we end up in the big 12 now....

Jun 12, 2012, 6:02 PM

by dabo saying that he will make the bot look stupid for doing it.not to mention not really words yo want to use about the conference you maybe going to.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Has does Dabo make the BOT look stupid if we end up in

Jun 12, 2012, 6:05 PM

the Big 12? Dabo just gave his opinion, the BOT has to make their decision. But this doesn't make the BOT look stupid.

Now one could argue that Dabo made them look stupid the last three years against USC and the Orange Bowl last year, but I actually like Dabo so I won't make that argument.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

dabo saying us leaving big 12 wouldnt be so smart..

Jun 12, 2012, 6:45 PM

in term if the bot choses to leave.he pretty much says they are morons

no i actually agree that the statements will be used against us if we end up moving.

the funny part was that a couple of threads ago Caddie's name was thrown around as somebody always against whatever Dabo does and then on cue he shows up with this post.

Just ironic that's all.

Think you mean Blue Caddie. I like Dabo fine.***

It was not smart at all whether it happens or not...

Jun 12, 2012, 6:01 PM

but especially if it does.

Where's York Tiger now???

Jun 12, 2012, 6:02 PM

I am not shocked at all by this and pleased that Dabo came out and bashed a move to the dust bowl conference. Where ya at york tiger? where ya at? GO TIGERS

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Still in the "third stall".....

Jun 12, 2012, 6:11 PM

Didn't you read Dabo's quote? ;)

We don't have any really good options. The question is can

Jun 12, 2012, 6:35 PM

we overcome what has always been a credibility problem by virtue of being in the ACC. That problem is about to get a lot bigger.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Thought the credibility issue ended when the coots

Jun 12, 2012, 9:35 PM

left the ACC.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If the SEC new TV deal gets them $30 million/yr. to the ACC

Jun 12, 2012, 7:00 PM

$17 million, not to even figure in the lucrative new SEC/Big 12 bowl game money, is Clemson going to sit still for that kind of monetary gap? If not and we then move to the Big 12, Dabo will look like a DA. And then he will have to sell recruits on coming to Clemson after making, what Dabo is quoted as saying is, a very bad move.

Sometimes Dabo, it's better to keep your mouth SHUT!!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: This is...

Jun 12, 2012, 7:45 PM

why he needs to shut up and coach the team. Just because Fl, UGa, USC, and others are whipping us to recruits he has to find a scapegoat...stop quacking...start coaching....

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe you should shut up.He seems to be right.

Jun 12, 2012, 7:58 PM

Even ESPN is saying what the recruits are telling them about both CU and FSU.

http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/62009/3-point-stance-richts-restructured-contract

2. Let’s all forget my recent prediction that Florida State and Clemson would leave the ACC for the Big 12. Not just because the Big 12 has said it wants to stay at 10 members. From what I’m hearing, recruits in SEC and ACC country have made it clear that they aren’t interested in playing in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, etc. Did you notice the news release last week about Tigers coach Dabo Swinney's new contract? Both he and the chair of the Board of Trustees mention succeeding in the ACC for years to come.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

As I recall he's doing pretty well landing recruits...

Jun 12, 2012, 9:29 PM [ in reply to Re: This is... ]

We'll have a good year this year as well.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So, all the best recruits want to play in the elite ACC..

Jun 12, 2012, 8:19 PM

and don't want to play in the Big 12? C'mon coach. The only real benefit of staying in the ACC is that Clemson recruits SEC-caliber talent, but for the most part, doesn't have to play against SEC talent.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Problem is, Dabo is caught in the middle...

Jun 12, 2012, 9:26 PM

trying NOT to let info out that may or may not be
true...its a fine line, sure U understand.

right?
