Interesting stats from last year's spring game....

Apr 10, 2015, 10:14 AM

DJ Howard and Kurt Fleming combined for 12 carries for 117 yards (9.8 yards per carry)

Jordan Leggett was the leading receiver with 7 catches for 59 yards
Daniel Rodriguez was the third leading receiver with 5 catches for 53 yards
Artavis Scott, meanwhile, had 5 catches, but was held to just 17 yards

Tavaris Barnes had 5 sacks, which is the same number he had in his 4-year, 47 game career.

The leading tackler for the White Team was Ben Boulware with 9, and the leaders for the Orange Team were Ryan Carter and TJ Green with 8 each.

Cole Stoudt threw for 2+ TDs, a feat he only accomplished twice during the 2014 season (@ Wake Forest and vs Oklahoma)

The Orange Team got sacked 11 times in the scrimmage.

I am sure people will be analyzing every single play tomorrow, but the truth is, the Spring Game means almost nothing in terms of what will actually happen this fall. I hope everyone enjoys the game tomorrow, but just don't take it too seriously.

SORTA GLAD THE GAME IS NOT TELEVISED. BAD NEWS FOR THE MOT. THEY GATHER IN THEIR BASEMENTS AND SCRUTINIZE EVERY PLAYER ON EVERY PLAY. THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GIVE US A GOOD PROGNOSTICATION FOR OUR SEASON UNFORTUNATELY. THANK GOD. LOL

He's the Tigernet board summary of the Spring Game

Our offense looks great. Nope, it looks great because our defense is going to suck. or

Is our offense this bad without Watson or is our defense really not missing a beat.

Why isn't (insert some random 4th team player) getting more playing time? He was awesome in the 4th quarter of the spring game.

I'll have to disagree. I personally saw a lot in the spring game. Usually it is the first time we get to see a lot of these athletes on the field. You have to look past the stats and just watch how each player looks. For instance Mac was clearly a baller. I was able to pick out who our starting 5 offensive linemen would be for the UGA game. Artavis Scott was fresh out of High School. You didn't need stats to tell u that when he took Cole's backwards pass from a -10 yard loss to about a 2 yard gain that he was a special athlete.

Yeah I agree with you

the stats are going to be meaningless but you can see who knows what they're doing and who looks lost, who has talent and who doesn't etc.

I'll be watching OL-DL matchups mostly, while trying to keep an eye on as many of the freshmen as i can.

I'd appreciate it if you posted what you see as I won't be able to make it tomorrow.

OLine as a whole looked better than I expected, Fruhmorgen might push for a starting spot at RT and Hyatt will be solid as the #2 LT.

Tay Scott and Mike Williams are who we thought they were, as is Mackensie Alexander.

Running backs looked good, especially CJ Davidson, but I'm still not sure I trust him to hold on to the ball based on one scrimmage.

The freshman DBs and WRs showed flashes, but also got lost at times.

Christian Wilkins didn't play, saw him in the stands with a cast on his wrist.

Our kickoffs were terrible, only saw one make it to the endzone.

Seems like a general consensus that the OL looked improved. Thanks for posting.

So what you are saying is the Spring game is in fact a meaningless overhyped intrasquad scrimmage?
