Apparently they play the real Casey Kasem countdown from that day in a certain year. With the audio remastered. Today it was March 5 1988. George Michael’s “Father Figure” was #1 and Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” was #2.
I admit, not all 80’s music has aged well. But the nostalgia factor is completely through the roof. Pretty stinking cool idea, imo. Not sure how often I will tune in. But I don’t regret my decision today.

But I have a feeling that saving recordings of entire radio broadcasts along with the DJ’s commentary didn’t occur to folks until Mr. Kasem. But I would listen to it all. I mostly miss Paul Harvey and “the rest of the story”.
