improve or regress by postion this year?

I know there is a lot more that goes into wins and losses than names on a paper, but where do we improve or digress this season? Assuming returning starters will automatically improve, that covers 4 out of 5 linemen and 1 wide receiver on offense. Lose QB, TE, RB, WR, WR and C
On defense get 7 starters back, lose DT Watkins, LB Boulware, CB Tankersly, and SS Johnson.
QB: impossible to replace. Big question is how big is the dropoff. RB: we have cabable runners but can/will they block TE: better blockers already, but can they factor in the passing game? WR and WR: hard to replace a Mike Williams, but his absence will force us to balance the targets. I could see this as an overall improved unit this year. C: I don't know.
DT: Wilkins slides over to replace Watkins and Bryant mans the end. I say better: LB: Joseph slides over for Boulware and Lamar or Chad Smith play the middle: I say much better. CB: hard to replace Tankersly SS: I think Muse or Simmons steps up and we are better
I could see a scenario where the tight ends block more and the running backs factor more in the passing game. Does everyone step up their game now that Deshawn and Mike Williams are gone? Do we rely on team more like Tennessee the year after Peyton Manning left and they won it all with Tee Martin?

Do we rely on team more ? This team couldn't be more team .
It's almost like people have forgotten how good Dabo Swinney is at recruiting , blending , motivating and teaching these young men how to be a TEAM .

Yes. The depth at every position is the difference. Injuries, fatigue, etc. happens throughout a long championship run season and we just recently got to the level of a solid 2 deep at every position where there is little to no drop off. That's the difference from 2012 and the last 2 years. We are there now. No more 3 star QBs for example... only 4-5 stars. It will take time for some fans to adjust to our new identity.

I don't necessarily agree about the QB position. One thing DW's replacement can do better immediately is cut down on the INT's.....
Both the QB and RB position will see a serious drop off in experience but talent wise there will be none.
We are WRU....no drop off there.
Our defense will be improved across the board as crazy as that sounds.

Hunter Johnson absolutely has the skill set that DW had. Whether he will have the composure and leadership remains to be seen but talent wise he's just as good and I think he'll be the starter within the first couple games.

less INTs, they still won't be as good as Watson. Not this year at least. Expecting the level of play to remain at the level Watson set the bar in 2015 and 2016 this year is just lunacy. Best case scenario is that someone emerges and plays really well so that the drop off isn't too big, and then we are able to make up for a good bit of it via improvements elsewhere.

My guess . . .

and that's all it is:
QB: Regress some RB: As good or better TE: Regress some WR: As good OL: As good or better
DT: As good or better DE: As good LB: As good or better CB: As good S: As good or better
PK: As good Punter: ?
If QB play is anywhere close to last year, then we could win every game and go all the way; lots of potential, but will it be realized (and at what point)? If not, it could cost us a few games. I think we will be solid at tight end, but Leggett was special as a receiver and will be hard to replace directly. Hoping a punter steps up, but with the emerging effectiveness of the Australian style punt, I'm not as worried about that. I think we are good everywhere else.

Everything will be better or about the same except QB and WR. TE maybe will drop off but I believe we will be ok.

QB and TE. I think WR will end up as good. QB will decide our season.

QB - regression RB - same (less efficient but more explosive) WR - regression early, but the same by the midway point of the season TE - regression (maybe better blocking though?) OL - improvement
DL - improvement at both DE and DT LB - possible improvement (better in coverage w/o Boulware, but can we make up for his run support?) CB - regression early, but maybe just as good later in the year S - same or possibly better

QB: Slight regression but only in the passing department. I think you'll see a very balanced, highly efficient QB next year. 20 to 25 passes a game. 10-15 rushes.
RB: Flat, Pass Coverage is the key
TE: Improve, better blocking means bigger running plays
WR: Improve (Renfrow, Cain, Higgins, Rodgers, Powell, ....)
C: Flat
DT: Improve (Depth is tremendous. The push we'll be able to generate is going to be amazing considering we won't have to play guys as many plays as we did last year)
LB: Improve (Tre Lemar is a freak. Joseph is a speed demon and O'Daniels will ball out too....)
CB: Improve
SS: Van Smith and Tanner Muse/Isiaih Simmons will terrorize this year
