Just look at the Aggies.
Texas A&M opened the season ranked No. 6 in the nation in the AP poll.

Now it’s questionable if they will manage to get six victories required to qualify for a bowl game.

Pretty sure ND was 5.

Where were the following teams ranked? I confess I don't know.

TCU, Oklahoma, TN, Cuse, KS, KS ST, UNC, Miami

This is why I think preseason rankings are a farce.
