Because of COVID last season many teams have super seniors, which has thrown recruiting and player development a little out of whack. With this has come more transfers, red shirts, decommitments, etc... It's clear this has affected the approach of traditional powerhouse programs, as Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State and Oklahoma have changed their focus this season to roster management and not wins/losses. And while I applaud Kirby Smart for trying to take advantage, many experts will tell you the 2021 National Championship is pyrite.
I'm glad to see Dabo, like Saban and Riley, sees the big picture here and is focused on building a secure foundation for the future. I'm looking forward to 2022 when regular football returns.

Was an * last year when a full season was not played? The trophy will look the same in the case so it is a moot point. Football and recruiting numbers will never be same and it will take at least 3 more years before the COVID is gone but the Portal still remains.

Pyrite maybe but I like to of their coming title as the Ford Pinto of national titles- won in a year of busted up teams. The overall competition is lacking, like the FBS is on a full reset or winning it during WWII.

No, they will win it because they are far and away, top to bottom, the best team in the country. Everybody played by the same rules, and oh by the way 2021 is a regular season.

I expect they’ll still choke like they always do. But if they don’t, they will be the next coming of LSU and will be at the bottom on the pile and losing to the chickens again in 2 years.

teams like UGA benefited from having lots of 6th year guys who are not good enough for the NFL, as well as transfers from elite programs that could not find playing time. They kind of struck lightning in a bottle this year, and I suspect it will be another 30 years before we see anything like this out of them again.

I agree Kirby has behaved poorly, but saying he would callously steal a NC like Black Jack Rackham, Stede Bonnet, or Blackbeard might do is going just a bit too far. Pyritecy is a serious offense, even today.

There would have to be. You look at the super seniors and then them also winning some games with rapists playing and you have to put an asterisk there. They probably start the season with a loss if everyone is truly being unbiased. There will be serious question marks. You ever see that movie Blue Chips with Nike Nolte? They kind of remind me of the football version. I am sure they have a couple good people on their team, but it's very tragic that the few good ones have to get their image tarnished by the majority. Anyway, thoughts and prayers!
