When it was 14-10 I looked at my girl and said, it’s a 4 point game, but it’s not even close.
Clemson was clearly more talented and I never felt like the game was in question.

Honestly, it reminded me of the year we lost to Bama in Sugar Bowl.. that Bama team would never really pull away from teams, but there was such an obvious choke hold on the opponent.

I am quite pleased with what I saw
New coordinators, game 1
Lots of room for improvement on O for sure, but I’ll take a THIRTY ONE POINT road victory and buy into this staffs ability to coach the players up and improve weekly.

Go Tigers!!

"We are a DJ screwup away from losing this lead and the game. Our defense is going to have score a touchdown for us. The defense is amazing, but they cannot hold on forever with our offense not being able to move the ball efficiently. We are by far the more talented team, but our QB holds us back."

We've seen this movie before. I was very concerned.

We always do this

This is a typical early season game for us. We're a little slow, sloppy in some aspects, but cover the spread and get the W (though, not last year). The internet explodes with hot takes of "Clemson is garbage this year!" or "Clemson is the most overrated team ever! They won't make a bowl game, much less the playoff."

I remember the season opener against Auburn in 2016. They were expected to have a rough year while we were preseason darlings. We just barely pulled it out with a 19-13 win and everyone was going crazy about how bad we were. I'd say that season ended pretty well.

In the 2019 opener at home against another awful GT team ETN had a big game but Trevor didn't. Heard tons of criticism about our passing game and "What's wrong with Trevor??" yet we still ended that season just short of a national title.

Overall, I liked what I saw last night. Plenty to work on but a much more comfortable win that last year's GT game.

The only concern I have is that we can't lean on the defense like we did last year without expecting injuries/fatigue to set in during the playoff stretch.

The bottom line is we just need better play not just from DJ, but from the O Line and the WR's as well.

The only bright spot in the WR corps is the emergence of Antonio Williams. Future star. Thought McFadden played really well at LT as well.

Screw Calford.

I believe we will see GT win many games this season.

I think they will be ranked at the end, maybe top 20. I think some, including me during the first half of the game, thinking it was the GT which lost a coach who was past his prime and rebuilding. GT's depth on defense was lacking but their secondary can run with just about anyone.

I was not happy with dropped passes though some weren't perfectly delivered but for the most part DJU was a 'serviceable,' quarterback.

I can see this team making the final playoff game if it grows and matures. Dabo wants to win every game but his entire season is dedicated overall to winning that NCG. Imo, we're on track to get there.

As bad as our drops were GT may have dropped more. I remember at least 2 of their drops that killed drives.
