“Hunter Renfrow joins Clemson’s coaching staff”

How many years until we see this headline?

- Average career span in the NFL: 3 years

- Longest wide receiver career : 20 years (Jerry Rice)

Renfrow is amazing but I don’t see him setting the record for total seasons in the NFL.. let’s say he has a longer-than-average career at 10 years..

- 10yrs-3yrs(Renfrow season count) = 7 years until retirement from NFL….

- Years to develop Dabo into interim head coach material (holding assistant titles): 1993-2008 ( 15 years )

Would you count Renfrows NFL experience the same as Dano’s assistant coaching experience?

Renfrow would need multiple seasons at Clemson as an assistant before promoting him through to head coach …

Short story long:

We need to keep Dabo until 2034 or speed up our recruitment of Hunter Renfrow back to Clemson …

Another post asking “who would you pick to replace Dabo” had me thinking:

There is no replacing a Dabo … but we may be able make one ??

I'm serious--all three could be great coaches. Wilkins' leadership played a huge role in one, if not two, national championships.

Prior to this season the speculation was that Hunter's next contract would be in excess of $25M, and that was before he put up 100 receptions and 1K yards. How sure are you that a guy with $30M+ in the bank would be willing to take a job working 100 hours a week where he spends more time kissing 18 year-old recruit's arses than actually coaching football? If he wants to coach I can see him in high school over college.

Yeah and he's held in pretty high esteem by those guys as well. When he's done playing I'm sure there are plenty of NFL GMs who would love to hire him to coach as well. If it was me college would be my last choice.

Deion Sanders is one example. It all depends on where individuals' interests lie.

Prime is in it for Prime, he's someone who's gotta have the spotlight. I don't know Renfrow at all but he seems like a guy who just wants to lay low. I lived in TN when Kiifin bolted and it reminds me of how the vols fan talk about Peyton. A large portion of the fan base are waiting for him (still) to ride in on a white horse and rescue the program. I have a feeling hunter is gonna be more like Peyton; since money won't be a consideration I think he's gonna do other things than coach/recruit college football.

I think Hunter might want at least one shot at a Super Bowl ring and that is still probably a few years down the road.
