It ask that you pay with exact change or other means, like a bank card as the United States was experiencing a COIN SHORTAGE. What is the next thing someone is going to come up with? Maybe the air we breathe want be there. Who knows.

If the banks are desperate enough for change they should offer me at least 30 cents each for them.

This is funny since I was turned away and not allowed to buy my meal with all pennies one time.

I've been hoping for many years that the government would issue a 9/10 of a cent coin so we could pay our gasoline bill in exact change.

I have 9 Abbott’s farm apple cider jars filled with coins. Once I reach 10, the family will be heading to the bank to load up their coin counting machine. We’re about 1/4 of the way to filling the 10th. Normally it would take about 6 months to fill up a jar. Don’t know now with the shortage

With inflation just around the corner

I'm holding onto all my coins, as the metal they are made of will be worth more than the actual coin.

Hey Oculicious,
I've been saving up pennies, nickels and dimes for almost a decade. If the metals do eventually become more valuable than the coin, where would one sell them?

You'll want to befriend someone at a scrap metal facility who can melt it down "off the books".

If it's illegal to destroy currency, we should lock up every politician in this country.

My wife took $126.00 of change to the bank today. Ok I've done my part. Of course I still have a glass gallon jug filled with pennies. I'll get to that some day. I know... I've heard it before... I am part of the problem.

it is a by-product of contactless transactions over the last 3 months, so coins have not been circulating quite like they normally do in the past 3 months.

They could make everything round up or down to the nearest dollar on the final bill if there is a surplus (above 50 cents), it goes into the SS fund.
