No way kids should become free agents, to bounce wherever they want. No way Coaches should allow it, by picking them up. No way should you be able to transfer one year, then do it again the next. No way should the "stupid society" today, be able to breathe the same air as the rest of us. Ahem.....

1 freebie transfer then a second one involves sitting a year would slow it down a little but would still some "freedom" of movement.
Old way was worked really way and never prevented a kid from changing schools.

I think it should just go back to free transfers if you’re a Grad Student or if your head coach leaves for whatever reason.
Other than that, you should have to learn to live with the choices you’ve made like the rest of us Americans.

… and yes, everyone has to live with the consequences of their choices, but they should also have the opportunity to change their situation for the better too.
What if they can’t handle the academic load, or a family member gets really sick and they want to be closer to home, or they need a fresh start?
Have you ever made a significant decision to change your life for the better?
I agree with another post… allow players to get a free transfer through the portal - also if their coach leaves. If they graduate, they get another freebie … otherwise they should sit a year.

Unfortunately, this is of our own making as a society. Just look at divorce rates and abortion rates. No one is held accountable for their decisions. Make a mistake, there is always a fix so no need to stick it out and work it out.
Morals and values are in the toilet and society is circling the drain...

I hate to let the multivariate nature of slw’s assertion get in the way of obsfucation but.
Marriage RATES are also down, co-habitation is up.
Abortion procedures are harder to get and available in fewer states now, than in the past. If there was a Kermet Gosnell on every corner, you can d*mnwell bet that there’d be more abortions.
Slw’s is right...things are bad right now and getting worst.

Whenever coaches are forced to stay through the entirety of Thier contracts, then ill agree players should be forced to stay put

I think college coaches know that Sanders and Fisher were doing more harm than good to their programs. You can bring in a hit squad and make some noise if you have a good core of talent waiting for the right pieces like LSU did Trevor's last year here. You can't recruit an entire team and expect to win the first year they are together.
Between those two they have proven that to people who coach for a living. The rest don't matter.
