Wayne Gallman

Oct 26, 2015, 11:18 AM

Has turned into quite the back. When I watched him early on last year, he showed a lot of promise. He always seemed to run with great effort, but he struck me early on as more of a dancer. It was working for him but it just seemed like some good coaching might really let him shine.

This year he has run with more downhill purpose. The beginning of the game Saturday was the perfect example. He got nailed by the Miami db on a play early on up the middle but Wayne was really running with purpose. Then he gets right up and goes right back after it. It really speaks volumes about his evolution.

I don't know whether some credit should go to Terry Allen or not but it sure seems like he is getting really good advice from someone. He is running with the power and purpose of a back that could play on Sunday's if he continues to grow. I really like him and I think he deserves a ton of credit. I'm not sure we beat ND without him.

If he continues to run hard, it will certainly improve our odds of going undefeated.

Big fan of Wayne.

I think Tony Elliot should get a ton of credit for this one. Terry Allen might get some of the credit but even Dabo should be more than Allen for even recruiting a guy most people saw as a defensive back and not a running back.

Now we have the running and passing game going on

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

I'm proud that as an organization,

Clemson has so many former players back in various roles in the department. They want to come back, finish their degree and help coach while they're there. Terry Allen gets a scholly to come back and finish school without having to work for it in the athletic department. He has chosen to participate which sounds like the polar opposite of some schools (Miami) where the former players complain but don't become part of the solution.

What strikes me is that he ALWAYS falls forward...

He can get completely stuffed and still seems to pick up 2-3 yards.

Most of what he knows about being a RB he has learned since

he got to Clemson.

He played LB/RB in high school, but he was very green at RB when he first arrived on campus.

He's apparently very coach-able and the coaches have brought him along well.

Next year, we may see a renewal of the James Davis / CJ Spiller combination with the arrival of Tavien Feaster.

agreed. Even though he still runs upright at times, he looks much more natural now that he's had a year in the weight room. He's also got a lot of length for a RB, which can be unusual to see without the bulk of a Levon Bell-type back.

Last year, Gallman looked like a utility back that would be our Brandon Wilds once Feaster got here. Now I'm thinking that Feaster won't be unseating him for a full starting job if at all.

I hope he'll be giving him a run for the money though.

I hope Feaster can develop fast enough to see the field early and often next season.
