wouldn't that nullify the revenue agreement with ESPN, and therefore nullify the exit penalties for other schools who choose to leave at a later time?

If so, since FSU appears to be the more motivated right now, why not let them jump first and take the hit?

No. The GOR will ensure the revenue continues to come

to the conference. Wherever anyone goes, they have to give up their TV money to the ACC. That’s why this B10 makes so sense. Fox and B10 are not going to pay ESPN $40mil a year to get Clemson/FSU.

I get that, but

If it's true what I read that an exit penalty has been negotiated of $30M per year for 10 years, it would seem that kind of $ would include freedom from the GOR. Otherwise it would make no sense to pay it. Guess we'll see.

these teams never pay the penalty .. ever.. never
