I am looking for the Tigers to win them all. That is the attitude each player and fan has to have if the Tigers are going to win the big one. The score always starts at 0-0, so the opportunity is there. I will watch one game at a time expecting the Tigers to be victorious in each.

So far, I like what I am hearing and seeing from Coach Venables. Hopefully, that will translate into a Clemson style, tough, hard-nosed defense on the field this fall. We have a lot of young talent at linebacker and in the secondary that could translate into an awesome product on the field.

I'm not worried about the D under Venables both from what the players have said as well as what I see from them.
We have enough bodies on the DL to move some people around and get the best of the best on the field, and rotate good players behind them.
Everything falls on the OL. if they give Tajh time, and he slowly goes through his reads, we'll torch every team on our schedule. No team has the DBs needed to stop our WR and if they go zone we should be able to hit them with runs or screens by the RBs.
Games are won in the trenches and we have questions about our OL.

all we have to do is avg bout 170 yds a game rushing if the ol can create just enough running that can allow us to be balanced then we can be scary good

I will have a better feeling after the first game, but I think we can be great if we get good play from our OL. With Caldwell coaching the guys I think that happens.
I expect we will battle FSU for the Division and for the Title.

Basically the same thing. I was trying to say that FSU or Clemson will win the ACC. So basically our game will be for the title since whoever goes to the ACCCG should win.

I worry about our DTs. Thompson was an animal. I worry about depth at TE, if Ford goes down. And most of all, I worry about our OL.

High:
-Win ACC Championship for 2nd consecutive year
-Beat South Carolina

Realistic 9-10 wins but i expect to see progression. Im concerned with only two posistions BT at LT and the defensive ends. Last year clemson never seemed to get pressure with just 4 (barring Va tech) all elite defenses at some point in a game rely on 4 man pressure.

I'm thinking 10 wins, with another title very possible if we can best FSU at Doak.
The main musts on my lists are that we beat GaTech and USuC.
My guesses are here:
Auburn- probable win. Definitely one I care about. I'm tired of the SEC luv in the media. Staying ahead of the coots with SEC wins is a good thing.
Ball State- Definite win. Don't really care though. Hope everyone has fun.
Furman- Why are we playing this game?
FSU- Can go either way. This is going to decide our fate in the conference.
Boston College- Probable win, and a probable real good time for those who make the trip to Boston. Those people up there are awesome.
GaTech - The litmus test. This will show if Venables has gotten over the hump.
VaTech- What are they going to be like this year? I haven't heard much. Thomas should be a beast, no? Should be a great game.
Wake- If our line has jelled and our backs are healthy, this should go much better than last year.
Duke - Durham is a fun town, no?
Maryland - Should beat them silly in our own home.
NC State- This will taste sweet.
USuC - Dabo ###### well better make sure those chickens limp back home crying. A loss without an incredible reason, like an act of God such as a tornado sucking up all our starters right before kickoff, shan't fly. If they aren't SEC champs, which they will never be, there is no excuse.

The defense will improve. I have no doubt. It is not a matter of i hope they improve, they will improve just because of talent and the fact that you can't get much worse than last year. Although we lost 3 lineman of offense, I think that the fill-ins are good and the fact that Tajh, Nuke, and Andre have improved makes the offense just as good if not better than last year. We are capable of running the table, its just a matter of if the team wants it

learned not to have expectations. The smart and safe thing emotionally is to go into the season with cautious optimism and hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst.
With TB it wasn't pretty, but you could count on 8 wins, plus or minus 1. So far with Dabo we could go 6-6 or 10-2 during the regular season and neither would surprise me.
If I had to guess, I'd say 7-5 or 8-4 b/c of the new OL, but with the crappy ACC plus 2 cupcakes, there is no excuse not to win at least 9 or 10 games regardless of the OL situation.
Auburn, FSU, and USC will determine how this season is viewed. Unless we lose one we shouldn't or get blown out by State, MD, BC, or Wake.

In three season Dabo has had 9, 6, 10 wins. And that included taking us to the ACCCG twice and winning it once. The ACC was no stronger when Bowden was here and we should have won it a few times under him with the talent that we had. And he did have talent to use. How we didn't win it in 03 with those WRs and RBs still boggies the mind.
We let TB go becuase he couldn't get us over the hump and winning the ACC. It was like a dream that we couldn't attain. Now winning our division and the conference is an expectation and just the start.

And TB took over a Clemson program in shambles. TB had 9 wins his last full season and left Dabo 3 consensus top 15 recruiting classes and vastly improved facilities.
TB's 1st 3 years were superior coaching jobs compared to Dabo's. BASED ON THE FACTS.

I care a lot more about actually taking home a trophy then I do about top 20 finishes. Doesn't mean all that much to me becuae rankings are complete crap other than the top 5. SC was ranked 8th at the end of last year but they were not the eighth best team in the country. Plenty of teams behind them would have crushed them. Despite all those facts you gave about TB it doesn't change the fact that the man was never able to win the ACC, despite haivng a lot of talent.

If you are in the business of analyzing real human emotion, then you may have a point. But the most fun part about the start of a season is the optimism that we will win every game and have a shot at the title. For those of us who love Clemson, setting the bar high is worth the bad feeling of coming up short. If you truly care about Clemson, then don't keep your positivity in check...scream and holler at the top of your lungs when the ball is snapped and if we lose, there's always next season!!
