9-4, 13-1

When looking at next years schedule, I see at worst 9-4 and at best 13-1. So, I'm going to the middle and say 11 wins again.
I believe we beat the coots, Georgia is a toss up right now and Florida State probable loss.

9-3 is a realistic bet for this upcoming year.
9-3 with a win over USC would be happy with me.
I think 10-2 is about the best we can do considering what we lose and how hard it is to get to 10 wins in the regular season.

I agree realistically 9-3, but 10-2 would be icing on the cake with a victory over the Coots...I would be very satisfied with that scenario

I agree with your thinking. Most of our struggles will come

early. Georgia is a toss up as you indicated and FSU will be tough. UNC has potential, especially if they improve on defense and this game comes at a rough time right after FSU, but at the end of the day if we have decent QB play I think we win at home. If we take care of Louisville, stay focused on the BCs of the world and finally win at GT then we should have a long winning streak heading into the coot game. Now, I am not a next year kind of guy, but I do think that we beat the coots this year for a few different reasons: First, we have closed the gap up front which is critical. Second, We're at home where the streak is bound to end. Third, we will have some guys in our lineup that have not been in this game as much lately and I think that this is a good thing....the mental aspect won't big as much of a factor as it has. Last, while I do think that Thompson will have better numbers and more TD passes than Shaw did, I also don't think he will produce the same results as far as wins and loses are concerned. He will be good, but there was something about Conner Shaw and I think that they will miss him more than they can imagine. In the end I say it's 50/50 between 9-3 and 10-2. We shall see!

Connor had heart. I've argued with a coot about that. He claims the O won't miss a beat with Dylan being starter. Yes they will.

more interceptions. This is a fact! He will do some good things and be a solid QB, don't get me wrong. But, Shaw was special for them. W/O doing any research I can think of five games in his career that he made the difference in. I am sure that research would prove this number to be much higher. Now Thompson may have won some of these games, but a few more loses and you don't have three straight 11-2 Carolina finishes, you don't have a have top five finish this season and you don't have five straight against Clemson. That would make everything a lot different. Losing Shaw, coupled with a much weaker pass rush will be the difference in the coots this season. Carolina finishes 9-3 and loses the east again!!!

2011 was tough early and we got through ranked Auburn, FSU and VT.

Then lost to GT and NC State, ugh. If we can get through UGA, FSU, and I guess UNC (are they any good?) without a loss we had better run the table.

I think your 13-1 is more reasonable. Assuming from your upside, the only game you concede is FSU? Granted they have looked great this year, but I doubt they have another game when everything they do goes perfectly and nothing we do goes right. If that is the only game we lose, though, it would be a great season. By the way, I do see that as a real possibility. I see our future as very bright. I still say the key is our OL. I thought they would be better last year, but at times, not so much. Get that right, and the rest comes much more easily. IMO

I don't understand, what makes you think jawga is leaps and bounds better than us
Jan 23, 2014, 9:30 AM

Last year the naysayers said they'll just run the ball all over us. It didn't quite happen. Erin Murray was a heisman candidate and would pick us apart? Didn't happen.
Erin is gone. That senior stud oline is no longer in tact. It's the same D we dropped 38 on. So why should we not expect to put points up? No to mention our D is incredible.
I just don't see how this game is a toss up. Cause we're breaking in a new QB? Wait, last year they said Tajh couldn't win big games. He did. Cause it's a road game? We've won on the road! Even beat some Canadian team last year way up north and went south to beat another yankee team on the road.
Sorry, I don't see it as a toss up. I expect us to win.

I think there is a better possibility we win that game but still have it toss up. I have it maybe 60/40% if that makes any sense.
New qb, no Watkins, playing between the hedges, etc

60/ 40, you say. That's ok, it's your opinion. I keep hearing how we're doomed with no Sammy. Funny, cause I heard we were doomed without Nuk Hopkins. (Misspelled hurd )
I think we have plenty of talented WRs and TEs. We should be just fine. And one more thing to consider: we've got Peake coming back from injury. He watched patiently on the sideline last season. Think he's not going to be motivated? Or come out there with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove? Just a thought.

Hmm. In no way do I think were doomed and in no way do I think jawga is leaps and bounds better then us. If I thought they were leaps and bounds better, I certainly wouldn't have it as a toss up game.
I think Clemson-Ga is probably two evenly matched teams. BOTH will be bringing in new starters, one plays at home.

Just want to justly clarify that I'm not saying you're calling us doomed. But I'm seeing plenty of "fans" around here who put it like that. I certainly see your point regarding our unknowns. And for those reasons listed, I can see why it's pegged as a toss up. I get it.
But I just think the ball is in our court. Clearly we have a better D. And their D couldn't stop leaky faucet last year. It's the same squad. Same 3-4 D. And the same superstar knucklehead defensive back is suspended. I just feel that they have more to answer than we do, regarding the unknowns.

UGA will have a better D this time around but, I expect to see a fall off of their Offense b/c of their new starting QB. They WILL have to do much more than just try and run the ball on our D. Just saying

I agree that 9-4 is the worst but for the people that think
Jan 23, 2014, 10:21 AM

that is likely:
With Beasley coming back I think this is the best defense we've had in years. The d-line is going to be great and I expect the d-backs to be much better especially if Mackenzie Alexander is healthy. Kearse and Blanks will be big next year.
We've got 3 really good options at QB. If Kamara comes your looking at 3 former 4 star rb's that will be redshirt freshmen, (plus Brooks and Davidson/Howard) We are stacked at tight end. Our number #2 Wr before injury was Peake not Bryant. Humphries is money and Williams is going to be special. We've got Hopper and a load of freshmen going in for spring ball.
Louisville and UNC are at home. UL, USC and UGA will be starting new qb's.
10-2 to 12-1 are legitimate possibilities.

How about 15-0 and rings all around. It is always a long shot to predict that for ANY team (Bama included), but we stand as good a chance as anyone else. The FSU game will be the key.
