Our coaches had an off night.

All of us are freaking out right now bc this was a game Clemson should have won by 7 or more. Instead the coaching staff had No Answer for the zone. A defense that stymied Clemson through two timeouts and prob a TV timeout .
We made no adjustments to the zone for over 6 minutes or more. The only change Clemson made was to go 1 3 1 with 3:45 or so to go. Too darn late.
Brownell is good and needs support. But tonight he needs to shoulder 100% of this loss. I do not want to hear about missed shots or turnovers or bad bounces or not enough hustle.
This was a loss due to hubris and ego or due to being ill prepared. I was furious that he stuck to same lineup doing the same things against same defense. Should have put KJ at the line in the zone and had Damascus and Austin on wings for threes. Any change would have done something.
No answer by coaches made this a loss. Coaches could not see the forest for the trees.
Shame. That cost BB coach of year and Clemson stronger case for a chance NCAA bid.

but its impossible to just look away from the missed shots, turnovers, and bad bounces and blame one person.
We had our chances late in the game to make a come back, and we had chances all game to start to pull away, but just like how most of the season has gone, it seemed we couldn't buy a bucket. This was just one of those team losses IMO

You are in the wrong business. You should obviously go into basketball coaching. Think of all the teams that struggle against zone defenses when you have all the answers.

No I am in the right business, a fan of Clemson basketball. Also, a fan who supports Coach BB. But let's not be blind. The man and his staff can have a bad night too.
The poster right above recognized that it might have been interesting to see something different in the second half after two Timeouts. Often times, the same 5 were on the floor and the same approach to "solving/attacking" the zone was employed by Clemson.
Did you see a different game? I just watched it on TV, so it may have been different if you were in Winston-Salem.
From what I saw in second half, Clemson players settled for jumpers, particularly 3s, because they could not figure out how to get higher percentage shots. The team rarely attacked the 2-3 zone from the foul line area, for either kick outs or 10 ft jump shots. AA, a player who has recently showed confidence in his 3 pt shot, did not touch the floor during the game.
In 2nd half, I also did not see answers or adjustments to affect the game until we went 131 zone with just under 4 to play.
I am not a coach. Just a fan. Just a fan who saw Clemson lose a game it should not have lost. A game that saw too many turnovers, players out of position at times, and a team showing some lackluster energy in second half.

Quick question, did you mean "a" or "an" for either "battled" or "embattled"?
My guess is embattled as seen below...
battled - as in fight or struggle tenaciously to achieve or resist something
or
embattled - as in (of a place or people) involved in or prepared for war, esp. because surrounded by enemy forces.
"the embattled Yugoslavian republics"
?
Also, the words you might be thinking of are either 'Pot' or 'Kettle', plus the darkest color resulting from the absence of or complete absorption of light.
Kind of like "an battled city"
