Noting the missing Bresee on the D-line, how do you think the Clemson defense would fare against the Georgia offense with Bennett at QB? Again, I’m ONLY talking about how that side of the game would play out, leaving out the Clemson offense.
Does Bennett scorch the Clemson defense?
It still impresses me that keeping in mind it was the FIRST GAME of the season, with teams trying to get their mojo, but this is a question of how the Clemson defense progressed, or regressed, relative to the progression of the Georgia offense.
My feeling is that I’m not sure if Georgia would score more than 20 points on the Clemson defense.

would hold their own.
But in the real world, with our lack of "O" giving the defense no rest, we would be running out of oxygen tanks before games end.

The problem is you can't completely eliminate the matchup between Clemson's offense and UGA's defense.
With our offense at the end of the season that included 2 true freshmen WRs, Will Swinney, and a banged up DJ starting and finishing the game, we may not get but a couple of first downs for the entire game.
In that scenario, our depleted defense would also get worn down and would not be playing up to their ability by the second half of the game.
While Clemson was at full strength on defense with the exception of Tyler Davis, UGA was missing several offensive pieces at the beginning of the season when we played them.

That is an impossible hypothetical. Offense has such an effect on Defense. If the best defense in the nation is on the field the entire game against a good offense their chances of losing goes up dramatically.

Our D held their own the first time. Being on the field 75% of the time (and other games) wore them down. An average offense (passing game) would have changed the Dogs game and the entire season.
