So we have to stop that excuse and look at the way we recruit these guys vs other schools.

It's the 4 or 5 star recruit in the class of 2023 that matters now.

Dude Ship is gone in two years and you know it.
Yes, RB was an area of need that's why the coaching staff was looking to sign two this year (one as a possible grayshirt).

Also, these recruits probably have never heard of him. It's been a long time since he was good in the NFL. They were little kids when he was a big deal.

He was the 9th pick, so he was kind of big deal. He also made the Pro Bowl in 2012. There was some hype around him and then he got injured of course. Either way, it's more than likely these recruits didn't know him.

CJ was never a big deal in the NFL. He was a big deal at Clemson and a pretty big deal on the ACC, but that’s about it.

Like I said, he made the Pro Bowl once and ran for over 1200 yards and over 1700 total yards that year. If someone was old enough back then and followed the NFL, they would know him. These recruits wouldn't though.

You do know that recruiting starts earlier than the year of signing. Give the Clemson ICON a chance to make inroads and build relationships.
Build it and they will come. Let’s not eat our own.

What does the fact that he is a Clemson ICON really mean to recruits that have never heard of him, because they were too young when he played?

Georgia is our nemesis at getting RB’s and always has been even back to the Walker days. They seem to have a more or did have more of a pro style offense where they ran to set up the pass. Good scheme when trying to make it in the pros which is obvious in comparing our 2 programs and what we have sent in at the RB position.
