How does Mizzou finish behind SC? Yes they lost head...

to head (in 2 OT), but Mizzou's two losses are to Top 5 teams while SC has two losses to unranked teams. Thoughts?

Pretty obvious, they beat them head to head as you said and deserve to be ranked ahead of them. You leave out one other important little detail. The coots beat three teams who finished in the top 10. Haven't checked, but did any other team do that?

Because we beat UCF and Clemson.
Not trying to rub salt in the wound...
But quit asking those question....
I *get* I am on your board. I generally try to be positive.
But seriously...Clemson had a great season.
Clemson won the Orange Bowl.
But...USC had a great season as well.

A little confused. You said South Carolina lost to two unranked teams. At your basketball game yesterday the fans were told Clemson beat two top ten teams, #5 UGA and #7 Ohio State.
Now how did we lose to two unranked teams if UGA was the #5 team?

It's not how you started...it's how you finish. FSU was not the Number one ranked team and national champions during the season but that's how they finished. Georgia finished unranked..it's not really rocket science....

Ok. I agree, UGA finished unranked. My question is how can someone say they beat #5 UGA while at the same time saying South Carolina lost to two unranked teams when one of those teams is UGA?
So either Clemson beat a top 10 team and South Carolina lost to a top 10 team or Clemson beat an unranked team and South Carolina lost to that unranked team.

Clemson fans have their own set of math and logic..which isn't logic or math at all. We lost to an unranked Uga and Tennessee, and they beat an unranked Uga. Clemson did not beat a ranked team all year and lost to the only two they played. We beat 3 top 10 teams and 5 top 25 teams. They don't want to talk about that. They want to talk about Tennessee.

So SC beat 5 ranked teams, which includes the bowl game, but Clemson didn't beat any ranked teams? And you think Clemson fans are bad at math and logic? Fail.

What I love

I love how coot fans say we suck and are over ranked, but they sure do want credit for beating a top 10 team when they beat us. That is the only time you will hear them calling us a top 10 team. They talk out of both sides of their ###. Lol. See what I did there.

You are right, you're not a top ten team, so we beat 1 in Missouri. Make you feel better?
Only issue I brought up was you guys saying we lost to two unranked teams but in the same sentence saying you beat a top 5 team in UGA. Now that is double speak.

Why would we look for credit in beating you? We were favored and beat you at home which is what the better team is suppose to do.
The UCF and Missouri wins were much better wins. Heck, they didn't have a 37 point home loss on their schedule, you did. UCF beat a top 10 Baylor team and Missouri only had 1 loss other than us and that was to Auburn.
So, again, I do think you're right, not sure why South Carolina fans want to take much credit for beating you at home, it's what we do.

Say clemson sucks. Just curious to wonder why yall r still talking about our final ranking. Both teams had good seasons, neither won the bcsnc and both finished top 10. There is nothing else really to talk about.

not so simple

Since you're going by final ranking, SC also lost to 2 unranked teams. That basically negates 2 of the good wins. Mathematically, if you were rating a team, which teams you specifically beat would not matter, only total wins (see Elo rating system). In other words, beating 5 ranked teams and losing to 2 unranked teams, is same as beating 3 ranked teams and losing to 2 ranked teams. So that being said--
Missouri played 5 teams in final AP poll (2,4,17,18,24) SC played 5 teams in final AP poll (5,8,10,22,24)
Both lost 2 games. (Missouri only lost a 2nd game because they played an extra one in the SEC championship)
Common opponents: Vandy--Missouri W by 23, SC W by 10 UGa--Missouri W by 15, SC L by 11 Fla--Missouri W by 19, SC W by 5 Tenn--Missouri W by 28, SC L by 2 Kent--Missouri W by 31, SC W by 7
Looking at 1 common opponent is usually worthless, but when all 5 common opponents show Missouri significantly better, that's important.
So if you are a BCS computer and ignore margin of victory, then their seasons would be almost identical. If you are a human or non-BCS computer, then Missouri was clearly better.

or if you're a human with any common sense, USC beat Mizzu head to head, so USC is clearly better. You can also apply this logic to the argument that USC is clearly better than clemson.

Tennessee is clearly better than SC.
Or SC is clearly better than Clemson, Clemson is clearly better than Georgia, and Georgia is clearly better than SC. Whoa, how is that going to work.
You have a strange definition of common sense. I'm done here. I can have a more logical conversation with my cat.

I will say that UGA pre-Knoxville was a top 5 team and we lost to them on the road.
And thinking bad losses cancel out good wins is stupid. It still counts as a W and USC does have the best collection of wins in the nation.
Mizzou and USC have comparable records and resumes. USC has better wins and beat Mizzou head to head. That why we're ranked higher and its really not that hard to comprehend

Y'all do realize that in 2011 the year you won that most amazing ACC championship you like to talk about so much you got blown out by an unranked NC State Team that got blown out by a Cincinnatti team that got blown out by an unranked Tennessee team.
