We have to give them credit. Most programs with their history of mediocrity don't have 80,000+ seat stadiums, loud atmospheres, and an engaging fanbase. Their fanbase desperately wants to win and are heavily invested in the success of their football program. We can't say the same about other programs with a similar history.

If you look at the Power 5 programs that are close in all time wins as UofSC and compare their stadium capacity.
Kentucky (61K) Arizona State (53K) Purdue (57K) NC State (57K) South Carolina (80K) Oklahoma State (60K) Baylor (45K) Illinois (60K) Arizona (57K) Vanderbilt (40K)
Not only is their stadium much larger and much louder, but their facilities are significantly better. They have done what is necessary to be a good football program, it just hasn't translated into wins. They arrived with Spurrier. But he got old and they fell apart.

As much as I hate to say it... they have the most loyal fan base per win of any program in the country. I have always been a die-hard Clemson fan and bring up 1998 3-8 season as the litmus test of if you are a true fan.... Even in our darkest days we still beat those guys. That game sent Tommy West off the field on the shoulders of the team and it also gave us Brad Scott, who, in my opinion, was the next best hire Clemson did after Dabo.
We would have never got Spiller or Watkins without Scott. His reach into FL was from his time as an O coordinator and O-line coach under Bobby Bowden. He is a great man and I thank SC everyday for him.
SC's record and history is unbelievable.... how anyone can give money to that program is amazing. But when you go to Columbia, it makes more sense. SC is where hall of fame coaches go to die.... Beamer looks like he is putting something together. We will just have to see if it translates into anything.
I would love to have a SC/Clemson game where both teams are undefeated.... make the game mean something outside of the borders of SC.

No Thanks. You must not reside in this state. If they went undefeated and beat us then wouldn't be able to live with those dirt peckers.

Hahaha.... Yes, I understand where you are coming from and I do not live in SC anymore. But why would you think we would lose to them? We have won more bowl games than they have ever been to. SC first bowl game victory was by Brad Scott in 1995. They are so far beneath us, I wonder why we even play them. I would rather play UGA every year than SC. Carolina is in Chapel Hill, USC is in CA. And THE university of South Carolina always has been and always will be Clemson. You can tweet that... write that.
But, if you remove the emotion from it, the game would be better if both teams were undefeated even though we know that will never happen b/c SC is destin for mediocrity. I'm just saying if they pulled their end of the bargain

He doesn't that the coot fan base have very high expectations also. Any new QB has got to win the Heisman and the National Championship in his first year. Otherwise they will turn on him.

being known as "The Graveyard of Coaches." It is ironic though, that Beamer the Younger may actually be young enough to get another head coaching gig somewhere else, once it becomes obvious that he needs to fly the COOP from Cootlumbia.

I was laughing at my coot brother.
Told him that Beamer would either crash and burn in Columbia, or find a small amount of success and end up at VT.

They are literally one of the most irrelevant programs to ever exist. Fact check that!
