I never played regularly, and if I had a handicap it would be enormous. With that said, I had a HIO at Golden Hills in Lexington years ago.

My papa had like 6 or 7. Guys that I have talked with later said he would play with anybody and my dad said he never seen him lose any money. He helped dad and his other son in law get started so I’m fairly certain they did not gamble with him. For any old timers he played with the eldest Biershank (Spartanburg area).This was back in the day when TopFlite was considered a premium ball 😂. Someone had also mentioned that they ended up in the same nursing home. I believe one of his grandsons played for Clemson if I am not mistaken. May have been Nick?
Did not intend on hijacking this thread just the HIO’s always reminds me of my papa.

For most of us (myself included) a hole in one is 95+% luck. I’m happy just hitting the green on par 3s, usually shoot mid 90s and I’ve had 2 of them. But it does feel good when it happens.
