How sad to see Ali like this, I wish his family would not

Jul 27, 2012, 11:34 PM

pimp him like this. Let the man be remembered as he would want. As a brash, outspoken champion. Not a broken old man because he hung around too long and took a few too many beatings.

I was thinking the same thing. Why do that???***

He is still just as much a man as he ever was.

He has nothing to be ashamed of. He has no reason to hide. He continues to show his courage publicly by participating when others would not have the courage. He is mentally capable of making his own decisons.

He has parkinson's, he is not a child. If he wants to still

have a public image, who are we to say he should hide in his home like those with disabilities did in the 60's?

Got to keep the cash register jingling. Lots of Bundini Brown types with a rice bowl to keep filled.

who dodged the draft but for some reason is called an american hero.never will be a fan of his.i will say though parading him around like this is embarrassing

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He dodged the draft in prison, which he fully accepted over

Jul 28, 2012, 10:09 PM

going to a country to shoot at and kill people that he held no disdain for in any regard and that 75% of today's American students couldn't even identify on a map. He paid a very large price for his convictions, unlike people such as former presidents who played their connections to the hilt for a ticket to a free ride and keg parties. That's a sad statement. As is the OP on this one. Parkinson's is an in and out kind of thing. His appearance was probably set up months ago, by the Brits, and you never know when it's going to get really bad, which it apparently did the other night.

Muhammad Ali is a hero, a real American in the true spirit of the ideal that it stands for; not a birthright, but an idea that anyone from anywhere can rise up and flourish based on their merits and contributions.

Apparently you remember him in a false light

Ali was a draft dodging racist. FACT. SO what if he was a great boxer.

dont get me wrong i hate seeing the guy suffer like he is.and wish he was healthy.but to say he is an american hero is a joke imo.my dad fought in nam.he got called a baby killer when he came home.yet this guy runs off and refuses to fight for his country when called upon and gets called the hero.F that.this is one thing i am passionate about more than tiger football.the stories my dad has told me about his arrival home makes me want to go in time and destroy some hippies.
