He'll likely have to battle with Kearse for the spot

they're both kind of tweeners that can fit that role well.

I would not be shocked to see him on the field this year.

I was impressed by what little I saw of him in the All-Star game. Looked quick and fast at LB, with a nose for the ball. I know you can't tell a lot from those games, but aside from recruiting hype, that's all we have to go on, and he looked good there.

I know, right? When you have a couple of guys like this that have quick pursuit AND can tackle, that's how you limit GT to 100 yards rushing.

I agree. He has a tremendous upside. Hope he can continue to add bulk and strength. I thought it was decided that Travis Blanks was going back to his natural position at safety. Anyone have any info re: this?

That's the kind of thinking that will get us beat. We are thin at running back, quartetrback, and in the secondary. Hopefully, this can be corrected, but not by "pie in the sky" optimism. And, isn't that phrase a bit tired and outworn by now. Actually sounds a bit stupid.

We're thin at QB, not RB or DB.

Can he play every snap?

As in, on both sides of the ball and special teams? What an athlete! LOVE the way he runs, but I doubt he'll ever come out of the backfield. Dye jukes and jives a little too much for my tastes; O'Daniel reminds me of Bama's elite backs that they've produced over the last few years. I think he'd be a fantastic big, short yardage back, who you put in to pick up 2 or 3 and he ends up trucking for 9 or 10!

The last paragraph...

This is the stuff that sends chills up and down my spine as a Clemson fan. This kid isn't even on campus yet and already has the percfect mind set. He's ready to come in and work hard with his team. He also mentioned that we will be ready for Georgia and it's a statement game.
I love this guys attitude. Hats off to coach Swinney for not only recruiting talent, but character as well. I can't wait to see O'Daniel in Clemson Orange running down The Hill in August.
GO TIGERS!!!!!

I agree! Love attitude and closing speed at LB and burst thru the hole at RB. Size is being questioned on this board, but must remember he is not on campus yet and is putting on lbs on his own and should pack on 5-10 more come August with help of CU staff/weight room. Love this kid!

I think he looks a lot better on film at RB and, IMO, is equal to Dye at that position. We have a ton of LBs and I think O'Daniel could be just the powerful back with home run potential we need.
