Likewise Pullen, I made all of those games. Our defense was plain out nasty and beat everyone up. If we had our current offense and 80% of that defense we wouldn't lose.

The one thing I see that stands out and it may just be the padding, but was the size our players. They were back then. And another thing is their technique. The Dlineman and secondary's technique was just beautiful. Shedding blocks and open field one on one tackles. Makes my weinis tingle. Definitely a well coached defense their.

This was before we cared about two things. Concussions and sports center. High school doesn't teach tackling like they did and colleges don't either because of injury. Kids at this level want to knock down or blow up a runner for espn. So they don't learn to tackle.

Disaster throughout the night. The speed of that defense was off the charts. I guess us older tigers took a lot for granted back in those days but a least we did get priviledge of experiencing some of the best years of the programs history. I'm thankful for that but would love to relive it again some day.

The younger Tiger may not realize that Major Harris came in #2 in the Heisman his Junior year. He was expected to be a good NFL player but it didn't go very well and he only lasted a few years as a backup.

I also attended all those games. Wouldn't trade it for anything but it spoiled me for life on Clemson football. We have not had a single team since that time even remotely as good as we were then.

Absolutely! The 1989 team was the most talented Tiger team in my opinion, just kept screwing up against the "easies".

history, BUT we lost to Duke in Durham 17-21, and to GT in Clemson 14-30. Beat the Coots 45-0. Beat the snot out of WVU, and they fired Danny the next Monday.
