Joe Theisman's Leg while being sacked!!

On a wrestling note Sid Vicious leg when he jumped off the middle rope rope and his leg snapped immediately snapped was disgusting and hard to watch!!

where two players collided and one players skate actually severed the throat of the other player.

I believe the guys name was Steve Tuttle.

Thankfully, he survived the incident.

I remember this from when I was a young kid, and I could never remember when or what teams were involved. It was actually Clint Malarchuk whose throat was cut. Steve Tuttle was the guy who accidentally cut him. This is probably the toughest one to watch of all. Here is a video, but warning...not for the squeamish....

He was probably the best in the nation, or at least one of them, and absolutely destroyed his ankle in one of the more gruesome sports injuries I've ever witnessed.

It's even worse when you consider that he never came back from it.

dying after fight with Ray Mancini in 1982. I remember it well since ABC Sports kept advertising the fight during a televised Clemson game. Then I recall hearing that the guy died - couldn't believe it.

Falklands war. It was reported that in order to support the war, many Argentinians had to sell their family jewels. Ouch. Most painful thing I ever heard of.
