Got served papers last night at Texas Roadhouse w my kids.

First of all I know about the hearing and I said I would be glad to come pick up the papers.
I guess the plan was for me to drop the kids off after soccer and get served at her house. But my kids wanted to go eat, which she said no to. We went anyway but she called to ask where we were.
I told the kids it was important work papers the secretary had to bring me so they didn’t know. Seems like a ###### thing to do though.
Also the hearing isn’t even for me, it’s for my mom bc she is trying to get my mom to never see her grandkids again. So many levels of FD up here.

but my mom cheated on my dad and they got divorced, my dad got custody of us. This was in the 70s, completely unheard of at the time. My dad never said why they got divorced. I found out after he died the real reason. My mom also left for three years to go to Miami to party it up without any kids to provide for and wanted back in our life when she got burned out.
We were young at the time and just wanted a mom in our life.
When I found out everything, that relationship was complete severed.

but I won the lottery with my dad. The older I get the larger he looms as maybe the best man I've ever known. He never poisoned our relationship with my mom, he supported us at a time it was awkward as hell to be a single dad. He paid every dime for me to go to Clemson
My buddybook friends probably see on Father's Day I post the same tribute to him every year.
I don't know where I'd be without him, or my wife. I've put her through hell a few times. soccerkrzy® is about the only one I've talked to it about, he was a HUGE help and I've had a lot of support. But my dad was a ####### rock star.

How did Ayejoe's parents meet? Well let me tell you.
Both were married previously. Mom had one daughter and dad had a daughter and son. Their spouses at the time were cheating on them with each other. So my parents met and the glory that is Ayejoe was created because of these two dooshnozzles cheating on them.
Life's crazy sometimes but i guess it happens for a reason right?
Oh and DadofAyejoe got full custody as well. As you said, nearly unheard of at the time or now for that matter.

Totally right is that protecting the children from as much hurt as possible, and keeping them out of the fight in every way, is objective number one, above everything else. They are more important than the parents' anger or frustrations, no matter how justified it may be. Anything else is the wrong way. Them struggling to accept that Mommy and Daddy can't love each other, and perhaps them, enough to keep the family together is traumatic enough. Exposing them to any further animosity or tension between Mommy and Daddy is unforgivable.

I also have a bat #### crazy ex.
My kids are now 38, 35 and 25. I was awarded custody of all 3 at our divorce. The (now) 25 year old was 5/6 when the divorce occurred. The ex said she was going to fight for custody of the youngest, but not the 2 oldest (because of school and such).
I had my ducks in a row...to the point that my attorney couldn't wait to get my ex on the stand.
Prior to the divorce, the two oldest kids (freshman and senior in high school at the time), went to visit their mother one weekend without my knowing about it. They came home that afternoon and told me that their mother wouldn't be fighting for custody of their baby sister.
I asked if they wanted to talk about this?
My son (the oldest) said "nope".
That was the end of it.
All three, to this day, have very little to say to their mother. Of the 4 of us, I'm probably the friendliest to her.
Though she was crazy while we were married, she dove off the deep end after the divorce.

Imagine, first heart attack and 5 by pass surgeries at 32 yrs old, a dozen more before the big one at age 50 and another three by passes with the damage so severe no need to bypass to the dead tissue and she was healthy all through all that. I'm still kicking.

Just working on mechanics so he wouldn't damage his shoulder or tire his arm too quickly when I saw the law show up. They didn't cuff me until we got to the car. I could tell they weren't happy to have to do that. I felt kinda sorry for them.
This thing in SC where magistrates are ignorant rubes from the backwoods is antiquated and obsolete. They think because they know the law about like the average cop they are qualified to judge. No law degree and from what I remember they didn't need a high school education until the 1990s.
