cooked tonight. Last I had it was when my mom was alive. Good old Southern cabbage is the dish. Any tips appreciated.

Maybe too late but I was always taught to add a teaspoon of sugar to any greens/cabbage.

Amount of sugar varies on amount of veg. And honestly teaspoon is an unofficial measurement as we just use the scoop and put in a lil bit.

Cook chopped cabbage in bacon grease until tender. Add sugar, salt & pepper to taste.
