Pressure.

Since we became #1, every team we've played has had the mentality that they have nothing to lose. It's only natural to play better when you're a significant underdog, because no one will blame you for losing. You can play loose, be aggressive, and take chances. You can use trick plays, and do things the favorite hasn't even seen on tape yet. All the pressure is on the favorite to win, because losing would be catastrophic.

UNC will feel the pressure, particularly in a close game. Yes they're the underdog, but it's close and many people are picking them to win. They don't need a miracle to win. They'll feel pressure as they see their chances of winning the ACC slipping away. Clemson is immune to the pressure at this point.

Deshaun and co. have proven they can handle it, but can the Tar Heels?

Do you really think that even if UNC beats us that they will make the playoffs? We'll get their best shot do not doubt it.

We've faced too many teams this year with nothing to lose. Louisville had lost a few in a row and brought a lot of underdog emotion into the game. NCST acted like they were on drugs. Syracuse, Wake and SCar were trainwrecks with nothing to lose and a win over Clemson would have made their decade. Finally Clemson is facing a team that isn't in some kind of weird mental state that gives them an edge.
