Good morning, how was everbody’s weekend?

Feb 19, 2018, 6:53 AM

Nothing much to report here.

Beisbol used the brooms, shooty hoops shipped the bed and the weather was pretty allsum.

8/10

Lets see what I can recall from the weekend

Feb 19, 2018, 7:31 AM

Friday after work had dinner with the fam, took the kids grocery shopping, home to watch something on TV, probably Olympics

Saturday I got up early to watch more Olympics, cooked breakfast, hit the gym and had a lazy afternoon. Went to the gf's for dinner and chill

Sunday I slept in late, got up and did all the women's work around the house, assisted daughterof with making a coat rack from left over material for a recycling project she had due at work. Went bowling for my nieve's bday and had a cookout on the bbq afterwards.

Home to watch more Olympics on replay then went to bed early

At some point over the weekend I watched Source Code, Space Jam, and Last Action Hero.

Feb 19, 2018, 7:33 AM

I worked most of Sat.
Sun, got up early and drove to Greenwood for breakfast at Waffle House, hit up Walmart for some supplies and then Publix. As the sun really started to shine, I kept telling Mr OSF "we should be camping".
So we did the next best thing and packed up and headed to the lake for a cookout. THOROUGHLY enjoyed it.

Got back home and opened some beers, watched the tv and hit the bed.

Friday - worked until 5:00 and made it to watch the last few innings of the baseball game
Saturday - partially installed the new zip line, still need to get more tension somehow, went to work for 5 hours
Sunday - worked for 5 hours, went to church

Welp, the Tigers lost but I didn't die.

Feb 19, 2018, 7:45 AM

So there's that. Good food this weekend tho.

Friday, hit BGR for a good burger and a beer.

Sattidy, went looking for a car for the kiddo, test drove an 06 Murano and 07 Cx-9. We'll see what she wants. Cooked up a Frogmore stew.

Sunday, watched the Dook game and then Bubba being Bubba, crying and all after winning at Riveria. Tried out the Orion smoker I borrowed from my neighbor. Cooked up some incredible wings, a dang good pork loin and a few pieces of salmon (the fish I got too salty). Will use again. Easy and very fast.

7.8/10 cuz I hate Dook (and ACC refs).

Fri - Took off work to attend the wedding of one of my best girl friends. Friday wedding, wtaf. I guess Charleston venues are so booked out, it’s over a year wait for most Saturday dates. Crazy.

Wedding was quaint. Reception at Harbor East. Weather was great. Drank many vodka dranks. After party at Windjammer. Bed.

Sat - Sleep in. Brunch at HomeTeam dt. Munkle Brewing. Lo-Fi Brewing. Holy City Brewing. Early to bed after much day drinking.

Sun - Brunch at a friends house dt. Cooper River Brewing. Cruise home to AVL. Redbox Only the Brave. Pass the f out.

Feb 19, 2018, 7:52 AM

Not bad.

I had 3/5's of the gkids most of the weekend. Mom was working (her last days at that hellhole). Dad was at a conference in New Orleans. Maria went to see her brother.

There was a lot of "What's for dinner" and "What's for snack". Cleaning up stuff they forgot they left behind.

But, I woke up above dirt this morning.

I'd give it a three out of five. I think I'll go take a nap.

Feb 19, 2018, 7:57 AM

But, if I was going to give a true grade I would have to take points away for:
- Finding out that someone got my credit card number and charged over $4000 worth of stuff in a period of three days. Fortunately I had a spare card while in Clemson.
- Tiger hoopty hoops lost to Duke. Let’s hope it’s just a speed bump.
- Crying baby the entire flight on way home.
- At least I have today off.

Friday: drove to Cootlumbia to see a couple of former players play. Great time seeing them. Back home and in bed.

Saturday: Cooled off a bit, but drove a short distance to see another former player, play. YOungest came along and we stopped to eat on the way back and Which Wich has some decent milkshakes.

Sunday: Back acting up a bit after driving so much, laid around most of the day. Watched the Tigers Brownell the bed. Heard baseball team did well.

Feb 19, 2018, 8:34 AM

Friday: Got cured for football aids at the clinic. Saw Shorty doing his thing at practice wearing 4" inseam shorts. Got a call from the boss about parents complaining about my class. Turns out the kids weren't doing anything in my class and therefore lying on me. I was never in that shower.

But he pulled the ol' "don't worry about it this weekend we will talk Monday" ######## that you know you're going to think about all weekend. Luckily I stopped by Green's in dirty myrtle to find some forget juice.

Saturday: Lazy day. Didn't do much. Drank.

Sunday: Lazy day. Daughter of went with Mother of to church but son of couldn't go because still getting over the funk. Went outside and played with the kids that afternoon. Drank.

Overall: 7/10.5 due to ominous meeting.

Drinks: Dogfish Head variety pack (60, 90, 61, something with brown sugar). Little bullet or something double IPA. Something in a purple label. Space dust.

Monday: had a quick meeting with the boss in the hallway. Come to find out the parents realized their precious little kids were lying and just not doing the work. So it's a non-issue.

With the exception of two days last week, it's been a great

Feb 19, 2018, 8:39 AM

two week weekend.

Two weeks ago on Saturday I flew off to the Bahamas. That place is expensive AF, but when your wife has friends that live there and you can stay with them it reduces the costs a little bit. Stayed there for 9 nights including the friend's wedding which was Greek and excessive in every way. Awesome time.

Came home last Monday and then worked Tuesday and Wednesday. Then off to NYC for Thur-Sun for wife's 30th bday.

Went to the comedy cellar Thursday night and listened to some standup. There were multiple comics that either had netflix for comedy central specials, but my favorite was probably Ari Shaffir.

Friday we went and saw dinosaur bones at the museum of natural history, then to happy hour with my wife's old coworkers, then dinner at an Italian place that was awesome. It was $50 for a family style meal with 8-10 different food options and all you can drink wine, beer, and sangria.

Saturday we brunched at a place called Calle Ocho which was delicious and then took a nap before heading out to Newark in the blizzard for the Marc Anthony concert. It may have been better if I knew some Spanish, but I had a great time anyway because there were 5 pieces of brass in the band and my wife was having a good time.

Sunday we rolled out to Brooklyn and went to the Brooklyn brewery with some Clemson peeps. Spent about 4 hours there and then headed back to Newark to fly home.

I am now exhausted and want only to sleep for about 48 hours, but coffee will help me through this.

9.9/10 for the last two weeks.

I'm thinking of an Andros or Abacos trip in June.

We were on New Providence island, in and around Nassau.

There are definitely sketchy areas in Nassau, but if you

stay on the west side of the island you're fine. Since it is larger there are certainly good and bad areas, but if you stay on a resort or out west it's not too dangerous. I think if we didn't know anyone there we probably wouldn't choose Nassau either, but because we do we also no the areas to avoid and the things to do that are not sketchy.

Feb 19, 2018, 10:55 AM [ in reply to I've had fun in Nassau but haven;t been in 4 or 5 years ]

I've never been when it wasn't sketchy. Went there for the first time in late 90's, and you didn't want to be downtown much past 6pm even then.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Abacos is fantastic if you want almost no tourists.

Feb 19, 2018, 10:53 AM [ in reply to What part of the Bahamas ]

About 10 years ago we chartered a catamaran and just sailed all around the Abacos....it was pretty much perfect. Been to Atlantis 3-4 times over the years for reward trips, and it's just not my jam. Abacos was complete opposite.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think Abacos have become Sullivans Island south

Feb 19, 2018, 11:05 AM

I bet I've met 5 people from SI who have a place in the Abacos as well.

There are some cool fly fishing/reef fishing charters going out of Treasure cay. I'm assembling a group to go down for a week..but the best places are 20-30 minutes from everything (but think ocean literally in the back yard, with your own beach), which may be too much from some of the group.

Feb 19, 2018, 8:43 AM

It all started Thursday night with a trip to Charlotte to the Great Wolf Lodge. Did that Friday and came home. Then worked Saturday because I took off Friday.

Waiting on the flu to hit. The GWL is a giant petri dish of germs. lol. The wave pool was cleared. Twice. Can only imagine what I was swimming in.

Wife bought a "Boston butt" at the grocery store for me to cook. Item requested was 8LB of Boston butt (usually two cuts around 4 lbs). Item received was one 3 lb pork shoulder. So cooked in the InstaPot (her contraption) since the meat was too small for our large crock pot. Slow cooked it for 5 hours. Ended up slicing it up. Was good, but not BBQ pulled pork as hoped.

Had two glorious bathroom visits yesterday. Water level was crested both times resulting in maximum aroma.

No ##### as usual.

Saturday I sat on my butt and dreaded laying in the floor of that old car to remove the cruise control amp for repairs.

Sunday I watched Clemson being raped by ACC officials and got so angry I went out and removed that CCA, opened it up and changed 5 questionable capacitors. I'm not sure I would have been in the mood to do that difficult task had we won. I really needed something positive after that loss and I got it.

Feb 19, 2018, 9:08 AM

Friday, took a half day and went home and ate a sammich and took the pup out for a long walk. Headed over to RH Mom's and brought her mail and papers in since she can't get down the driveway very well until this knee replacement get done. Left RH Mom's and drove through the apocalyptic Charlotte area traffic to get to Matthews, NC to see country legend Billy Don Burns. All of the promo stuff said it was a 5:30 show so I got there at 4:30, only to realize that the guy opening started at 5:30 and Billy Don at 7:00. Oh well, drank $2.50 16 oz. PBRs since I had to drive home, and sat on the patio talking to some bikers. I saw patched club members from 5 different clubs I'd never heard of, which means they could be posers, or they could be associated. Either way, it's rare to see so many different cuts in one joint. I thought they were all there to see Billy Don, but there were no bikers left by dark...weird. Billy Don came on and played from 7-8:30 and was magnificent. Every song had a story behind it and that was freaking awesome. Got to chat with him for a bit after the show and get a pic made with him. No traffic on the way home, stopped at Sonic for a mediocre at best hot dog since it was the last option before home, cracked another beer and fell asleep in the Big Chair.

Saturday, laid around all morning doing nothing with copious amounts of coffee. Finally got motivated and did some household chores, then took the pup on her Saturday ride to the trash dump, then over to RH Mom's to do a few chores and let Tiger run in the fenced back yard. Made it home too late to actually cook anything, so microwaved a Marie Callender meatloaf dinner for two lept in the freezer for just such times. They're surprisingly decent. Loaded up beers and bass, and too off to go play LOUD rock and roll around 7:30. Played until 2 am, and it was a dang good jam session. Usually is when our drummer stays halfway sober and plays in the pocket. Home to crash hard.

Sunday, got up and drank copious amounts of black coffee and went down the musical rabbit hole on YouTube on several artists. Finally got motivated to get a few chores done, then sat down to watch bastardball game. Screamed a lot, scared the pup, she went and hid in her crate. Went to grocery store after game and came home with a deli pizza, which was pretty very OK. Drank a Habanero Sculpin with pizza that I have no idea how long it was in the beer fridge, but was good. Watched Cool Hand Luke, got back on YouTube for a bit and chatted with willki, then crashed.

Minus the obvious deduction for a feces basketball performance that urinated me off more than it probably should have, I give the weekend a GOLD medal.

Friday - kids spent night at my parents house, so went out to nice dinner at Italian place with wife-of. Home after for netflix binge. Wife-of alseep in minutes, so watched episodes from 1st season of Andy Griffith Show. Was glorious.

Saturday - with kids out of house, spent most of the day doing odd jobs around the house prepping for putting it on the market in late April. Kids delivered back home at 3. Out to dinner at O'Charley's with friends. Kids eat free every night of the week apparently. Not too bad of a deal and food was surprisingly good for a chain (had prime rib and it was pretty decent).

Sunday - skipped church like a heathen - kids-of take nerf arsenal out for neighborhood battle at 11am and don't see them again until 5pm. I went to see Black Panther movie solo. I didn't really know the story, just heard it got good reviews. I guess there aren't any many black super heros...the black people in Augusta showed out. I think I was possibly the only white person in a huge theater. Was a pretty good movie and I can see the appeal to black people. Take-out from PF Changes for dinner.

Got home Friday and started trying to get some stuff we don't use packed up. Got up Saturday and had lunch at Arnolds, then met with a home builder so we could start figuring out w tf we're going to do. I'm still a proponent of living on a houseboat, but I do not think I'll will get wife on board heh. Piddled most of the rest of the day, found myself absolutely hammered by about 8:30. Not sure what happened there.

Sunday tried to go to Esso, but couldn't get in. Watched Clemson basketball do Clemson basketball things, then cleaned up around the patio some. Took a nap outside and did nothing the rest of the day. Now here we are back on Monday.

Although I recently learned my sister is involved in a dispute with her upstairs neighbor, and knowing my sister this may get good. She texted me this morning elated that she actually got to call someone a snowflake in real life to their face and had to have a meeting with management....Sounding like it's going to be entertaining.

If I had to guess, sister with the neighbor issue has them contemplating suicide by now...She is capable of unleashing a verbal assault that can destroy a person. Found out a few minutes ago that after she cussed them out in the parking lot the neighbors contacted management, saying they were fearful to live around her. Which may be warranted, they were rude to the wrong individual.

Other one actually did see the ex the other day, there is some slight concern he may be doing some stalking.

Feb 19, 2018, 9:40 AM

On Friday, neighbors and some other friends came by for a few beers, but then I had to log into work to fix something that went down. They continued their partying while I toiled away in the virtualization mines. It's weird I actually have a new job (same company), but am somehow still doing the old job, too.

Saturday gathered some friends and the neighbors and went to SEWE with Greenville tourists to watch dogs jump in the water. I heard, but didn't see, a lab jumped 22' and some change inches. That's a long way for a dog to jump. Also got a line on some fly fishing trips in the Abacos later this year.

Stopped at Bay St Biergarten on the way home for some food and beers. I had a Bells two heart, and I'm not just understanding how you people drink this stuff. It tasted like somebody steeped some hops and barley in lukewarm water. That ish was turrible. I had to get a vodka drink to wash the nasty our of my mouth. Later walked up to the Southern to see a band.

Sunday, washed my truck so it'd rain later (it did), and around 5 went back to the Southern to see Hans Wenzel and the 86'ers. They did some new Tom Petty covers, and a couple new ones of their own. Good stuff.

I'll give it a 8/10 will prob do again yelp stars.

Feb 19, 2018, 10:20 AM

Friday night: went to a local spot and had dinner with Red after having some beers at the office. Pretty decent. Went home and watched "When We First Met". Good flick for a Netflix movie.

Saturday: Yard work in the morning then went home to visit my parents. Mom had her hip replaced last week and the doctors were so kind as to fracture her ankle for her. Hung around the house with Red, mom and dad. Had pizza, wings, fried mushrooms and a few black and tans. Watched 'The House" with Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler. Pretty good for only having two stars.

Sunday: French toast and bacon for breakfast with the family before heading to lunch with Reds family. Had easily the worst mexican food I have had in my life. 0/10, do not recommend eating at La Hacienda in High Point, NC. Picked up some furniture from Red's mom's house that her grandmother had passed onto us. Turns out the wood was cracked four different places, so we swung by Lowes and picked up some clamps. Repaired that and replaced an outlet/wall cover that I had missed going through the house before. Watched the 500. #### Austin Dillon. Macklemore lookin ### #####. Red gave me the choice of dinner, so we had filets, mac and cheese and some bread. Watched a bunch of Greys anatomy. Walked the dog around 9:30.

Ellie woke up this morning around 3am and jumped off the bed and ripped a fart so loud Red and I both woke up from our slumber.

bartended a 40th bday party at Boone Hall

fixed a couple of broken light switches and wiring issues around house
kids napped
took kids to park

drove to bluffton for a bridal show
watched some olympics and fell asleep

not much to report.

5 days of sobriety due to Lent and 1 weekend down and it wasn't really that hard to decline booze at bday party. Lighting my grill without a beer in hand felt un-American, but I lived.

I figured that the smart thing to do for Lent was give up

front of her face run a red light and plow into a car head on, and then take out 2 others.

Re: Good morning, how was everbody’s weekend?

Feb 20, 2018, 7:16 AM

Friday: relaxed at home. got ready for a big weekend

Saturday: started by swinging by Honda dealer 1. Only looked around, didn't test drive a car. Went to honda dealer 2. Test drove a pilot there. All of their hondas were pretty much base package so we left and went to the toyota dealer to compare it to the Pilot. The highlander has a better user interface for the touch screen controls but overall the pilot is better. Went back to Honda dealer 1 and dropped $40 g's.

Sunday: I hate oak trees. I also hate windy days. Both should be banned. Don't try painting a deck beneath an oak tree on a windy day.

Monday: Lol @ everyone who had to work. Got a lot of chit done at the house. Also what a nice day it was.

Overall 8/10

Friday night, headed out to

Feb 20, 2018, 12:24 PM

Woodruff Rd. some shopping. It really isn't that bad after 7:30.

Saturday I had to come in to work, did next to nothing, left early.

Sunday--drove to Wellford to get some of Big Ben's banana pudding, then off to Gastonia for the old fella's retirement/birthday fish fry. Good times had by all.

Monday, got some new wiper blades and picked up a framing project from Hobby Lobby.
