Hard to win this one when they have about 10,000 more students than we do. Or is it done by percentages?

It was percentage until about 3 years ago, at which point in time I believe we had won the last 8 or so. Then, for some unknown reason, It was changed to the total number of units donated, and the coots have won every one sense. Its ridiculous because they have soooo many more students than us. Almost every one of my circle of friends donated, and I had to wait nearly an hour in line when I went to give. I think we would have won the percentage battle.

Don't you have to be in Clemson to give blood towards helping Clemson's contribution? If so that's as unfair as it gets. You do not have to be a student as far as I know.
I live in Columbia, another huge advantage for the coots since it's a way bigger population area than Clemson, and am not sure if I can give blood and tell them to count it towards Clemson's contribution.
Anyone know if I could have?

I live in columbia too and went by to give blood yesterday. Last year they had the option of donating to clemson or USuCk, but this year they didnt. If you donated in Columbia, then you donated for USuCK.
This is USuCk, of course they have to rig things in order to win

Yes, my son-in-law is currently a grad student at USC (graduate of Clemson) and he definitely gave for the Tigers--said the nurse who took is was a Clemson grad too.

Weird, I even asked the people working it and they looked at me like they had no idea what I was talking about.
Fishy....

Not too surprised here. They have more students, and they are, and always have been, good at spilling their blood.

their student had a higher blood alcohol level? If so, I guess Garcia is still hanging around campus. He's what's known as an "outlier", even by uSuC standards.

The Clemson-Carolina blood drive goes through next week according to every source I've ever encountered. It has been a 2-week, statewide contest ever since the game was moved to after Thanksgiving.
And yes, USC typically wins it now--which is simple math, they have more students, alumni, and fans in this state than we do. I think they had to switch to absolute donations once they broadened the blood drive statewide. I think it stinks, but whatever. I still give every year and wear orange or purple while doing it.

the rivalry but I don't donate anymore. I gave on a regular basis but I got tired of hack nurses digging for blood two and three times into my veins. I work out 2~3x a week so I've got veins to work with but I'm tired of walking out of the blood connection w/ black n blue arms.
Go Tigers!
