This doesn't usually take but a few weeks to heal from, but with this kid's luck or lack thereof who knows.

I had same injury this year. I had my surgery done in mid April and I was running around by early May. He should be back for the Clemson game.

Agreed. But in order to heal properly he's going to have to

As a life time competitive person, I love seeing a very competitive game. What I would love to see more in our rival meeting against the mutts. What could have been better than to see Clemson and the mutts kick the ball off with no injuries and no suspensions on either team. Clemson's best against mutts best. I'll take the Tigers with no excuses at the end with an evenly ref called game. It couldn't get no better, and I do believe that we can compete with any team in America today....

Feel bad for the guy. Seems he can't catch a break. Hope he makes a full recovery.

Hopefully he can come back 100% healthy, whether it be before or after our game. He's an immense talent who's had a few bad breaks...hopefully it won't stay with him long term and he's able to realize his full potential.

This is the same procedure Peake just had isnt it?
Didn't Peake just have scar tissue cleaned up in his knee via arthroscopic surgery?

Similar...but not exact...difference between scar tissue and cartilage tearing. Hopefully both will be back by game time. Would rather see the best on the field.

Gotcha.
I actually had the same exact procedure done in HS (scope to cut out torn cartilage).
Agree, hope both are 100% by gametime.

Cartilage is VERY slow to heal

It gets very little blood flow compared to other things like muscle tissue. They may give him a platelete injection to speed things along, but he won't be 100% for quite some time if he did in fact tear cartilage.

A second Georgia WR to likely miss Clemson game
Aug 1, 2014, 4:05 PM
|
|
Update 4:04 PM: Also, WR Justin Scott-Wesley will likely miss opener due to ACL recovery according to multiple reports. Richt on Scott-Wesley: "I'm not sure when he's going to really be able to play a game of football for us."
