So much Gamecock filth

May 7, 2012, 2:58 PM

In the comments section.

My favorite:

When someone calls them out on the overall record, they bring up 3 in a row, and say stop talkin bout the past.

Lol, there is just as much past in that 3 in a row as there is in 63/17.

Oh, and that lonely ACC Championship banner

the instant I saw Mr Haney's name on the article

May 7, 2012, 3:16 PM

I stopped reading, this guy is an SEC homer, a gamecock beatwriter who also wrote the gamecock masturbatory guide "Gamecock Glory" and just another coot loser IMO.
His opinion on this matter is less than nothing

Exactly. The guy is a Mouth Carolina alum and a Shamecock homer. Win 25 more in a row and then we can call it a rivalry.

Guys, Haney is a native of Cleveland, TN & is a Tennessee alum. In fact, here's a snippet from his bio on ESPN.com-

"A native of Cleveland, Tenn., Haney's initial introduction to a college football cathedral was Neyland Stadium. He later graduated from the University of Tennessee, in 2003, and has spent time covering the Volunteers, the University of Georgia, Clemson University, and other schools."

Not sure why everyone assumes someone is an alum of a school purely because they are a beat writer for said school.

Man, those comments are ridiculous!

I mean, I am pretty disgusted that we have lost to them for three years in a row, but at the end of the day it is a rivalry of an athletic event that we have no control over.

Did Mr. Haney have Arnold with him ?? *****

I remember reading this same kind of BS back....

May 7, 2012, 4:26 PM

in the spring of 1971 after we had lost to them for the 3rd time in a row - all kinds of dire predictions of how they were on a roll, etc. You see how things did actually turn out after that.

Things will return to normal - don't worry.

A quick check of history of the rivalry shows that the ##### have strung together three consecutive wins five times , and even have one period (1950-54) when they won four in a row. But if they want to talk about streaks, lets see, oh yes, here we are with 3 examples of three in a row, 6 examples of four in a row, and (from 1934 through 1040) a 7 game streak.

Their recent success (a situation which we trust will end this year) just proves the old saying that even a blind hog finds an occasional acorn.
