I'm actually encouraged after this game

Firstly, we won. Secondly, DJ played great. Thirdly, the offense is coming together and we're explosive. Fourthly, the receivers played their best game. Fifthly, our Dline was missing 8 and 3. We've still to see this unit at full strength and depth. Sixely, the secondary was down Sheridan, Mukuba, Greene, and had a hobbled Wiggins. That's like losing a two deep at multiple positions. I believe that the secondary and defense is much better with them back, and the silver lining is that we got these young players who are not ready got baptized by fire and got some experience to learn from and build on....
We are far from where we need to be, but we saw progress in area, and we'll get healthy in the other areas.

Agree. However, got to get the starting secondary back soon. Leary at NCSU has to be licking his chops in a big way and unlike Wake,State has a defense.
I was very pleased with DJ's play. He was excellent and our receivers played like they're capable of.
There were a lot of good things, but we can't use the PI as a primary form of pass defense and continue to come out on top
Go Tigers!! Look forward to being in the Valley this Saturday.

NCSUs O doesn’t come close too the pressure

WFs can put on the DBs from a schematic standpoint. Hartman is also a better QB and Wakes receivers are better. We’ll also have more guys available and gained some valuable experience. WF only TD the last 4 possessions came on a clear communication bust. You will see more of a mix of man and zone this week. Pass plays will be easier to recognize and even though State likes the short passes against us and getting out of their hands quickly, it’s a lot easier for the D to know which play is a pass and which one is a run which makes their job a lot easier. Especially for any young and inexperienced that are on the field. ,Yes NCSU does have a better D but our O is starting to hit stride and the playbook is opening up as the schedule beefs up.

Anyone who is not encouraged after that game is just trying to be negative. It was perfect by any means but it was a gutsy team win over a pretty good team at their place still relatively early in the year.

+1 One of those Clemson Grit games that helps build the confidence in this team.
Hopefully we see some sort of improvement next week against NCST with the DBs but this game actually answered one of the questions I was worried about as a fan...
Can DJ and the offense compete in a shootout Big 12 style game where the defense is struggling?
Despite people that just wanna say "well, it's WF", this was a good thing to see. Not a perfect game by any means but certainly some positives on offense that was good to see.
Concerning the defense, people forget that WF is typically a problem when they have an upperclassmen heavy team. --Look at their roster (lotta 6th year super seniors and 5th year seniors) --This ain't one of them old WF teams that the Tigers should've mowed over in their sleep -- they are a legitimate tough out this year.
Of course, I wasn't happy with how things went by any means on defense yesterday outside of a handful of plays and the final play.
However, we got the W and working on fixing problems after a W is wayyyy better than after a loss.
