Does Boulware get drafted?

Jan 11, 2017, 7:15 PM

He has heart and passion for the game. NFL linebackers have to cover more and speed is a factor in the NFL. I wish him all the luck but I think his combine skills may hurt his draft status. I wish Ben all the luck and hope he gets a chance at the next level.

Maybe a late round pick. He may be a good situational guy. Seems pretty similar to Kavell Connor when he came out of Clemson. Connor was still in the NFL last time I checked

More than likely, A Free Agent

His opportunity to make a Team will rest with his ability to excel on Special Teams! I hope he gets his shot and makes it!

Do Not Know that Answer but I bet this:

He will be on an NFL roster this year unless he gets some Significant Injury! If I am Wrong I bet he gets a GA spot at Clemson! You can not Teach HEART!

To me, his size, athleticism, and speed is comparable to former Temple LB Tyler Matakevich. Although Tyler got drafted in the 7th round, I do believe that Ben's improved attributes over the years will get him drafted somewhere from early to mid rounds. He does need to work on his man coverage skills though. Good thing Clemson was in the spotlight the way we were the past two years, he rised up to the occasions and showcased his abilities. Especially his play recognition which is just as important as a QB's decision making. Extremely important for a LB

Yep.

Somebody will be able to find a place for him, the guy has heart and has no fear.

I'm afraid he may be a Special Teams only player. His pass coverage skills may not be up to par in the NFL.

I was formally known as Furious george and have changed my name to match the name I use to call on WCCP radio.

I bet he gets drafted late. I think he will get drafted.*****

he can be multiple special teams demon for at least 10 yrs in the league.

That's what I was thinking as well*****

Somebody will definitely draft him

Jan 11, 2017, 8:21 PM

He most likely won't go high but you can't deny the guy as a run stuffer. Some team will like him as a situational guy for sure. Probably 5-7th rounder.

Boulware = Singletary

Jan 11, 2017, 8:35 PM

He reminds me of Mike Singletary - the defensive field general for 85 bears. He is 5' 11" tall and was 230 lbs in 85. I believe that like Mike, Ben can be the heart and soul of an NFL defense if given a chance. I believe he will get a chance.

That's a big time stretch*****

Re: Does Boulware get drafted?

Ben Boulware college stats:

2016 Jack Lambert award recipient (think Khalil Mack, Von Miller, Luke Kuechly)

2017 NCG defensive MVP

1st team all-ACC

144 solo tackles
117 assisted tackles
261 total tackles
26.5 tackles for loss
8.0 sacks

What Ben lacks in speed and height, he makes up for in instinct, tenacity, and heart in my opinion. He must spent hours upon hours studying film because he consistently calls the direction the play is going prior to the snap and he has been an incredible defensive captain.
I hate when people say he lacks size... he is 1" shorter than Reuben Foster and the same exact weight at 235lbs. And we have all seen him square up the biggest of backs, including Derrick Henry, and stop them dead in their tracks. He's no first-rounder but I'd sign him in a heartbeat.

Yes...he'll be drafted. I could see the

Patriots take him middle rounds.....i envision Belichick taking a chance on a hard-nosed cerebral linebacker that makes up for athletic ability with smarts and instinct.

But that's just me.
