Do you think that Clemson would be #1 IF...

Dec 3, 2017, 11:26 AM

...Lamar Jackson had been the QB this year?

Just curious what the opinion is on this hypothetical.

Yes... coaches would have built the O around his skills***

Maybe, as long as he wasn't a one-man show.

Not really. KB misses some throws sure, but he almost always makes the correct read. Very rarely does he force it into double coverage. Better at that than LJ in my opinion. KB also leads ACC in completion percentage. May not be accurate assessment, but I'd really worry about LJ being more about LJ than the team.

Idk.

It's possible to imagine an egotistical maniac being playing at Clemson if you have a really good imagination or a bag of medicinal pot.

Lamar still holds the ball like a loaf of bread and fumbles the ball a lot. Yes he makes some amazing escapes when it looks like he is going to be sacked but he also makes a lot of bad mistakes that seems to happen in big games. He also starts beating his own head at times and gets rattled. I would take KB as he does not get rattled.

Absolutely. He's a one man show at Louisville largely

Dec 3, 2017, 11:49 AM

because the rest of his team isn't very good. He would have vastly superior teammates at Clemson.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Absolutely not. If Dabo recruited guys like Lavar

I do not think we would have the same foundation and culture that has been the key to our success.

Is there any reason at all to believe he's really a bad guy

Dec 3, 2017, 12:06 PM

He has Bobby frigging Petrino as a mentor. With Dabo guiding him for 3 years do you not think there would be a difference in his demeanor?

Fair point. I've never cared for his attitude or demeanor or the way he leads his team. Perhaps he would've turned out better. Or perhaps he would get kicked off the team after the spring game. Tough to say though

Yes if he got his act straight and didn't get kicked off the team. A LITTLE, not a ton, of Chad Kelly in him.

He's good enough to keep us #1.

Duh, heck yea.***
