Football ROH thoughts...........

Let's face it, it used to be that we could spot the Tiger Greats who deserved to be in the ROH. But now with all of the great players from recent years, how will it be decided?
Of course, there are some shoe-ins like DW (unless current scandal hurts him), TL, CJS, and Dabo. But who else? Either the ROH gets packed with players or the selection criteria gets ever stricter.
We can all name players who WE think should be in but it will be interesting to see how it's decided. And now with so many players leaving early, how many are never graduating from college (which is a requirement)?
Personally, for example, I strongly believe Sammy should be in the ROH but don't know if he ever graduated.
And I STILL think Voice of the Tigers Jim Phillips should be, but he never graduated from a 4-year college.

DW4 may be able to sidestep legal troubles but regardless it is clear that he has behaved in a less than honorable fashion. With so many names to consider his actions will drop him below the other top tier candidates.

And still brag of how he stopped the coot streak, and how his greatness won us a National Championship for 2016, or will they store away that trophy. DW4 was an outstanding student, and a great QB at Clemson. Just bc a sleezy group of women armed with a more than sleezy lawyer are after his riches, that is no reason to shun him, or act as if he's a criminal. With all the men that has went for a massage at those same places, isn't it strange that none of them are being sued or slandered. I'm saying that they all knew what DW4 was worth bc it wasn't a secrete, his salary was in the news, and when he states that he wants out of Texas, he gets sued by the sleezy bunch there in Houston!!!

Sleezy women involved because DW4 recruited them for his sleezy activities. The ROH is more that just success on a football field...

You have to consider school records as a starting point...

and then maybe the overall importance of their career and how it elevated Clemson football.
A few obvious choices in my eyes from the Dabo era:
- Dabo himself - Tajh Boyd (he is first among QBs - more than DW or TL) - Etienne - his record alone justify it. - Deshaun - Sammy Watkins or maybe Nuke - Wilkins - Maybe Isaiah Simmons...down the road - Mitch Hyatt had an incredible career too - Vic Beasley
I think those who made the most impact, set records and were a part of great teams get the priority. Its important that they be vested, true Clemson guys that have a name that resonates amongst the fanbase.

Maybe it should evolve to the “Memorial Ring” or something? I would hate to have someone up there and later in life they make a wrong comment, join a wrong organization, get caught up in a questionable operation, etc and then Clemson have to make the decision of removing or not.

Totally agree on Jim Phillips being put into the ROH.

NOBODY ever was more associated with, or loved Clemson more than the Voice of the Tigers.
And, just to prove I am not biased, I consider Gamecock Bob Fulton one of the best to ever do it, as well.
