because my daughter and i celebrate our birthdays today.she being born in 1978 and me in 1946.that's right.i'm 77.why did i choose to post this on the football board?because one of my favorite memories is holding her in my lap while watching steve fuller,charlie bauman,and the boys beat up woody hayes and the bucknuts in the '78 gator bowl.the kid must have been thinking my father's crazy.what kind of family did i get into with all this yelling and cheering.needless to say,she and the rest of the family are life-long fans.they've come to realize that i'm dr. jeckll and mr hide when it comes to CU football.watching a game with me is not pretty.thankfully they all understand and put up with my nonsense.

arrived in CU in the fall of '64.left in the spring of '68.came back to SC '72 after grad school.stationed at ft. jackson for 3 yrs.went back north for family reasons,but have made many trips back to my adopted home state for games and vacations.SC will always hold a special place in my heart for too many good reasons to recount.

I can relate to the Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde reference. I’m a pretty laid back person until the game starts. I am also a Miami Dolphins fan and when we lived in Miami I had the opportunity to take several of my staff members and their wives to a game. I was just getting started getting into the game and my wife noticed one of my managers looking at me with his jaw dropped and eyes as big as saucers. She looked at him and asked “what, is he not like that at work?” The guy couldn’t even answer. He just sat there and shook his head no. You gotta be passionate about something right?

use to visit the miami area in the winters as a young child back in the 50's.parents had friends in coral gables,and we stayed there,but also hollywood and coconut grove as well.use to love the venetian pool and matheson hammock.
