Good morning, how was everbody's weekend?

Friday night, rode up to Greenville to see Sharkgirl. Late dinner, early to sleep.
Saturday: Ride up to Mt. Mitchell and do some hiking. Apparently reached the highest point east of the Mississippi. My calves are still mad at me over this Pretty good time, then went to Clemson to hang out with ole Charlie. She has no survived a Vomitfest and a night of unbridled drinking.
Sunday, a lot of sleeping, then get on the road, call the old fella, get back in time to watch the last NBA game. I figure all LeBron has to do now is not be a goober with his social media and his legacy will be set to a mostly positive manner. I think some of the shine may be of Curry.

Friday: Played golf with friend, his dad, and his brother-in-law (if you remember two years ago, the guy with the serious car accident, him, he's probably at 80% recovery, looks to be his plateau). But it's our Father's Day tradition to play golf, he'd hit a ball from the tee, then come drop at the best drive of us three and play from there.
Shot my worst round of the year (lol, it's only my 4th round this year, because life sucks), but actually worst of the past few years, an atrocious 91.
Then played pickup ultimate for a couple hours.
Then the fun part, did a downhill mile race. I won the non-competitive group with a mile of 5:49. The competitive men's group fastest time was 3:52, lol. Was a fun run, mostly because I had no idea how to pace myself and was so far out in front that I had nobody else to pace myself with.
Saturday: Played in Powerade State Games, three games, went 2-1, the one team that beat us had no right to be in the PSG tourney. They're the best team in the state, and most of the region, but oh well.
Sunday: Day two of the PSG, we lost on universe to the only team we cared to beat...thanks to their cheating ("borrowed" a couple women from the number one team...). I twisted my knee badly on a hard fall cutting back for a disc and the defender stepped on my foot. Sat out most of the third place game because of that. Then team late lunch/early dinner at Red Robin (YUMMMM), then rushed to my summer league game, borrowed a knee brace from a friend and toughed it out for another game, which we won 15-13.
So yeah, I'm in pain, Achilles tendinopathy, something is definitely up with my left knee, right knee was skinned pretty good from the fall, and strong sun burn.

Thank god I can read Aero speak. You are in true form.
Friday - good times with the family, grilling and chiling
Saturday - on the boat all freaking day. Got sunburned and only had 2-3 beers due to driving boat. Got home, had some pizza and drank a few while watching Tigers lose to Royals.
Sunday - church and then pool and then nothing. Just chilled all day with the family. It was the awesome!!

Fri - Coed soccer team dominated our match. Celebration beers at Open Brewing.
Sat - Horsey stuff with wife all day. Mexican for dinner. Delicious. Watch Copa matches all night.
Sun - More horsey stuff. Wife won Grand Champion of her class. She's stoked. Dogs to dog park. Head to friends house to grill on the back porch and sample his latest home brew. Weather was amazing finally.

If you ate BBQ there we had the same lunch.
Have you eaten at the restaurant there? Is it worth the price?

Friday - went by ex coworkers to pick up some of their honey and homemade shave soap (what they are doing to supplement retirement income) and ran in to multiple folks I used to work with that are now retired and haven't seen in years. That extended the visit long enough to push supper (pizza at Wild Ace) late enough to get me out of Contra Dancing.
Saturday - attended blacksmiths' guild meeting, it was cool enough to get something done and banged out OSF's promised bottle opener. Lunch at Mt View BBQ. Drove by new "brewery" in Columbus that turned out to be a music venue/beer hall that does not make beer. Prepped ribs, boiled eggs, made cabbage salad for FIL's Father's Day. Had gyro from Cuzinas for supper. Early night.
Sunday - up at 6 to put ribs on then back to sleep. Was trying to cook them 3-2-1 but when they came out of the foil in step 2 they were already over done. No worries in-laws wouldn't know real BBQ if it slapped them up side the face. Lunch was good - wife added deviled eggs and mashed taters to the ribs and cabbage salad with brownies covered with fruit and whipped cream for dessert. Late afternoon took care of laundry and lazed outside enjoying the cooler day.
Not to bad at all.

Thurs night. Went from calm to 60+ mph in seconds. 250K+ w/o power in RVA. We were lucky, didn't lose power (it's underground in our neighborhood) and just had a bunch of twigs/leaves come down.
Friday, picked up said leaves and cleared out for a 2:00 showing.
Sattidy, went to Julep's downtown for some lamb shank, low country crawfish pot pie and (of course) a few mint juleps. Good stuff.
Yesserday, did 4 miles, bought groceries and watched DJ win the US Open. Then watched my 1 obiligatory NBA game for the year.

Friday I went to Clemson to see a dog.

|

Went to look at the runt girl, came back with a deposit on one of the boys. We got scared that the runt would have medical problems as she almost died at a week old. The owner (also a vet at the Fox Nest in Seneca) felt like she would be fine, but we decided against it. Lunch in Clemson, visit a few sites, take a few pics, do a little shopping, etc... Picked up Smokin Pig on the way home and fed Dad for Father's day, drank beer, Long day.
Saturday up earlyish for a nice run while wife works out a gym. Got a little over nine miles in before we had to leave. Wonderful weather compared to the last few Saturdays. Went to Manchester Park for kids to ride bikes, etc. Lacrosse Tournament going on so it was filled with the most stuck-up people I have ever seen. Mofos having conversations on the trails that wouldn't move out of the way for my kids on bikes....a few hot moms though. Went across the street to Moe's for lunch. Nap time and then we invited Wife's grandfather and grandmother over for dinner. Grilled some chicken, sauteed veggies, roasted potatoes, beer for me...fun times. Pretty sure we watched Zootopia as the kids fell asleep. Watched Chile DESTROY Mexico and laughed.
Sunday church (20 minutes late) then Empire Pizza for me. Kids went down for naps eventually and I actually fell asleep for a few minutes. Got up, cut the grass while kids played outside and eventually made our way inside for dinner...cereal and fruit. Kids finally fell asleep....BACK TO WORK THIS MORNING.

Friday, LOUD rock and roll until the wee hours.
Saturday, cut grass, went to dump with truckload of stuff, got oil change in car, went and helped Mom & Sis carry out coolers, tables, and party implements since they were having a cookout. Went home and got cleaned up and went to out Supper Club. Drank many beers, we ate at Millstone Pizza, white seafood pie was good enough, was tired and we called it a night just before midnight.
Sunday, woke up with sinus infection again and pretty much wandered around the house doing nothing because felt like poop. Wet, squishy poop at that. Finally got the energy to go to the grocery store, came home and Joonyer brought dinner and we watched the end of the US Open. Ended up going to bed early, because still felt like poop. Wet, squishy poop.
Still feel like it this morning, waiting to see if Doc will call in antibiotics or summon me to be examined first. I have a feeling they want cash money dollars and will call me in to pay for an exam I don;t really need.

Sunday was my first Father's day with the new family. I've told the story here before, but I married into a family with six kids. I've been amazed at how quickly the kids have been accepting of me and seemingly love having a present and involved father figure. And Sunday I got cards from each of them talking all about it, one of them made me a Clemson cakes, and I was able to spend the day out with the whole family.
It isn't always all roses (as one would expect), but to see the impact that our new family is having on these kids is awesome and to be able to be a part of it is simply an amazing blessing.
It was an awesome day indeed.

Delightfully, and unambiguously, very York-ish
Jun 20, 2016, 9:27 AM
|
|
Started the weekend EARLY
Thursday: Head up to nature preserve, the county of York, situated in the state of South Carolina. Arrived off of exit 79 and enduring the most offensively hellish traffic on the last 15 miles of I-77N. I sat, ordered up a beer and a schmedium pizza, and , lo, and behold, the local warlord walks in. Those who have met him, know he strikes a conspicuous pose, cutting his way through the sea of humanity. He decides to sit at my table, which, of course, I convey my joy. We discussed world politics, soccer, football, baseball, the Jounge, and we both pondered, how many bowls a day that cougar11 smokes. Time came for our departure, with hearty good-byes, we hastened our way to our next destinations. Me, on to McHale's Irish Pub to watch Le Americanos and he, to rape and pillage.
Friday: Awoke, slightly hung over, over to NORTHWESTERN HIGH SCHOOL, home of warlords everywhere, prepped to check in 72 players. Assisted with set up and finished about 2PM. At this time, our friendly neighborhood warlord gave me directions to the REAL hidden gem of Comprehensive York county, the Taco Truck. Located in the parking lot of a real liquor shop, they served up the most delicious sopes ever created by man or the gods. Laced with the highest quality crack, they get you addicted early, like Marlboro Reds did generations ago. Made with and by, real Mexicans, I almost felt guilty wearing my "Make America Great Again" hat while leering at the young woman serving me. Celebratory banquet that night, capped with pizza. My caloric intake roughly equaled the US debt that day.
Saturday: Up early, TWO breakfasts (because I could.) Off to see the all star game at Historic District Three Stadium. A pitch that has seen many a glorious footballing moment. As I walked on to the artificial turf pitch, I took a moment to recall the greatest footballers who have scored and saved goals on this historic locale. Watched the girls game, then head home and ate the most delicious Lousville seafood dinner.
Sunday: Slept in, did the Father's Day routine, had Mexican for lunch, because TRDJ gives me a discount. Watched soccer, basketball, napped, spent some time with the kids, and saw the slightest bit of golf.
15/10, because you don't go to York county everyday.

Friday took off and headed up to Asheville and Hendersonville to check out a few rings. Pretty sure I know what I'm going to get and will be making that purchase in the next few weeks. After ring shopping we stopped by Sierra Nevada for a few beers and was hoping to see everything in operation. Unfortunately they seem to have the same work ethic I do and were virtually shut down by 3 and were just cleaning up.
Saturday went with parent's of lady of ST to the pisgah inn to eat at the restaurant there and see the views. The walnut crusted trout is excellent and I highly recommend it. Went back to cabin of parent's of lady of ST and hung out and grilled filets for dinner. We then proceeded to drink bourbon and make smores.
Sunday I headed home to hang out with my dad. We hung out in his newly installed UDP above ground pool and then went fishing. Caught about 8 bass in the 1.5-2 lbs range and a few little bream. Grilled t-bones for dinner, watched Lowry choke away the US Open and the warriors choke away game 7.
10/10 would not change one thing from the weekend.

Just got back from my Extended weekend in California.
Jun 20, 2016, 9:49 AM
|
|
Wednesday - GF and I Flew from ATL to Anaheim. Layover in Dallas. Forgot about the time change in Dallas. Thought I was late to board my flight. Was not late to board flight. Catastrophe avoided. Met the GF's mom. Found out she went to HS with my mom. Quickly became scared as all #### because they have a reunion coming up. Went to the Lucky Strike Live #SoundCheckLive for southern rock night. Freebird was awesome.
Thursday - Went with the GF to Knott's Berry Farm. Quickly realized again why I hate amusement parks. Left and went to the Anaheim Packing district for food and Pineapple sculpin. In the evening, we went out with one of the GF's friends from College and her husband. Dinner was pretty meh, but the people were pretty chill.
Friday - Drove down to San Diego. Went to Ballast Point brewery. Consumed more Pineapple Sculpin. Checked in to the hotel Palomar. Walked around the Gaslamp district and went to the Padres Beerfest/game vs. the nationals. We scored two tickets in the Premier club for $100 for the pair, so it was pretty decent. Walked around the stadium, and I checked another stadium off my list.
Saturday - Day drinking then wedding. Realized that I need to have my suits taken in on account of the weight loss. Overall, not the worst wedding I've been to, but the drink selection was poor.
Sunday - Discovered that you can get the speed filter on snapchat over 250MPH. Drove to LAX and flew home.

Got that, done moved a few things to storage. Prep to sell the house has begun.
Also watched my sisters boyfriend have an epic meltdown Friday night, complete with a declaration that he was just flat out offended. One of the most bizarre things I've ever seen. When told that nobody really cared that he was offended, he stomped away and cried. Not just get pouty, but a full blown cry. 30 minutes later, acted like nothing had happened. We are hoping he kills himself before he burns our houses down or something, dude is totally unstable. Entertaining though.

But I'll preface by saying he is from Michigan, and is a huge Michigan fan. He can certainly dish out some trash talk, but you could say something as simple as "Michigan sucks!", and he'll take it personally. Like, it will ruin his day, it's happened.
Anyway, we're all sitting around, and a friends telling this story about buying a car or something, I don't remember exactly...but the word "yankee" is said. Not directly to him or anything, but he takes this as an insult. He is apologized to immediately, because like I said, crazy. Nothing is brought back up about yankee, or anything else. Come to find out, he's made an enormous scene at a bar before, just because somebody mentioned my sisters ex boyfriends name...They weren't even talking about him, just someone with the same name, and he threw a tantrum...but nevertheless, I'll pick back up on this incident.
Well, we think we're in the clear, he's not going to get emotional. But he does. For some reason he had this huge buck knife he had just gotten, and go finds a stick. This SOB starts aggressively sharpening this stick. Concern begins to build. So over the course of 2 hours or so, we continue just to chill and chat, just shooting the breeze. Out of the blue, dude gets up and violently throws the stick in the fire, proclaiming it to be a "###### stick". Uh oh. Oh, and all the while, he's sitting over there mumbling how he went and got all the fire wood by himself...While bizarre by itself, he also did not get it by himself.
Nothing for the next 30 minutes. Then, out of the blue again, he says "well what if I just constantly said all southerners were stupid". We're like, uwotm8?? Couple of more minutes pass, "I'M OFFENDED. I. AM. OFFENDED." Everyone is shell shocked. At this point, we're all like this guys is totally nuts, craziest thing I've ever seen. We're like dude, sorry, but I mean, you can't take things so personally. "I SAID I AM OFFENDED". So at that point, everyone's about 12 beers in, and he's promptly told nobody really gives a ##### about his feelings. Stomping/crying commences.
This is a 25 year old guy acting like this.

except he is southern baptist and gets totally offended when someone says anything remotely critical about them. It's ok for him to go off on any other religion though. And I think a newspringer too. Guy is totally nuts. Hence why I have questioned how to get a restraining order on here before.

I do know that he's had a lot of problems getting along with her friends, but never thought about it. Younger girls can be kind of catty like that, but I got to see first hand who the problem was. We talked with her roommate though, and she said that he almost punched her one night after he went ballistic because she insulted Lebron.
He's definitely emotionally abusive, not sure about physically yet. We think he's reading her text messages and stuff, because he always knows exactly what my other sister has texted her. May be time to pop the popcorn, cause things may get interesting know that he knows we all know he's nuts. She won't be able to just break up with him, even if she wanted to.

He doesn't sound amazingly a lot like my wife's ex, but sounds EXACTLY like the pieceofshitmotherfucker. As in, very controlling, extremely emotionally abusive, somewhat physically abousive (if he hasn't started yet, he will), possibly the most self-centered person in the world I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Your sister needs to run, run away and never look back!

There is nothing good for her down that road. She needs to simply cut and run, and if necessary yall can enforce upon him he needs to go away once she does.

night quietly. He's totally obsessed. It will become a stalker situation when/if she tries to break up with him. And you can't ever talk to her about it, because he's always around. We were joking, we might as well just start wearing Go Pros so we've got footage, could turn out to be an interesting reality show.

But I've witnessed first hand the damage that a relationship like that can have on a person, and the longer it goes on the longer it takes to undo the damage. Get her out of it, now. Not only for her sake, but you and the rest of your family as well.

Friday wake up to redhead things. Have kids for the weekend, order pizza, go out to sing karaoke
Saturday play golf, shoot 81, go out for a couple beers. Tired so come home and hang out with the family, mother-in-law is admitted to the hospital -1000/10. Suspected viral menengitis is ruled out, running more tests but won't know results until today.
Sunday church, chinese for lunch with kids and father-in-law. Fathers Day gifts with funny cards from wife and kids. Hang out with kids until they have to go home. More redhead things. Watch Dustin Johnson win the open, happy even though he is a coot. Take care of baby while wife goes to hospital to visit her mom. Tired so fall asleep on couch and did not watch one bit of the NBA finals game, which was not the best part of the weekend but damm close.
Overall purty good except for the MIL in the hospital part, 7/10.

Fri afternoon, get call that I'm in final two for position I've applied for, and can I have an interview this week---why, yes I can.
Sat, take boat out on lake from 10-4....meet some friends out there, tie up, our kids all play on their big-azz floating mat while friends float and drink cheap beer with us. Leave lake, shower, go to local singers and songwriters night where it's $10 total to get in, and you can bring your cooler and buy really good burgers for $2 and they have free activities for the kids while you talk and drink and listen to music.
Sun--get up, play gee-tar in church, go to In-laws for father's day lunch. Then wife takes son to camp, and I get some time with my daughter. Proceed to take her to Dukes of Hazzard Museum (she's a bigger fan of the show than I am, and that's saying something) to meet Daisy Duke (she was pretty nice, but not so much a looker 35 years removed). As if that weren't enough to clinch father of the year, I then loaded our kayaks on the car and took her kayaking and swimming at the lake, finishing with a trip to the local pool for a swim.
Watched Cavs last night, got MauldinT butthurt by saying Lebron wasn't a team player. Overall great finish to a great weekend.
