if we stay hot and finish strong? Surely a long shot but I have to think it's at least on the table now.

That would be a longshot......we need to FOCUS on beating Louisville first, Coot Jr. University of Conway, then UNCheat.

It’s not really a long shot.

This team is exactly as good if not better than #12 where they sit in the RPI right now. You look at the teams we’ve had to play this year, and it’s tremendous that a first year coach with that schedule is doing this. We’ve got a batting lineup that can go hit with any other team in the country. Getting Ammons back with other guys has given us the strength we need at pitching with our starters finally molding themselves.

This isn’t a fluke. We’re Omaha level. The most important thing is not losing our confidence, no matter where we end up in postseason. Because hosting doesn’t automatically get you anything, definitely not for Monte Lee.

That said, here’s what needs to happen in my opinion:

1) Beat Coastal, huge for RPI and getting season sweep over them.

2) Win series vs Louisville OR UNC

3) Win series vs VT

4) Decent showing in Durham for ACCT

We just can’t go and get swept by VT or flop completely. I like our chances hosting more than I don’t like the chances.

Not really a long shot. We’re playing from behind because of the slow start but if we hold a top 12 RPI we will likely host. Our predicted RPI is 25, but that’s based on finishing 4-5 in ACC play. Close 7 - 4 and a couple ACC tourney wins and I think we host. The long shot, that is now plausible, is a national seed. 8-3 and ACC tourney champs would probably do it.

I'd say winning 8-9 out of 11. Beat Coastal at their place, don't lose a series.

Then have a good tournament and Clemson will host.

38+ wins with number 3 SOS would be enough.

Jeez. Boyds World says we stay in top 16 RPI with just 6 home wins. 10-1 to finish regular season to get in top 8. We’re in a really good spot if we keep improving.
