It’s a reference to United as a soccer moniker like Manchester United. It’s also been a Clemson thing for over 10 years now. They’ve had that logo for ages now.

Please don’t compare to Manchester United. The first club to use United was Sheffield. It typically comes from two or more clubs merging. However, like clemson some just do it to distinguish themselves from other clubs.

Maybe if you bust your butt year-round for a decade to earn the privilege of playing for that team, you would have the right to name it. They can call themselves whatever they want. I know how hard it is to play for Clemson soccer
