Clemson Ring & Question

Mar 18, 2018, 10:16 PM

A little over a year ago I posted that I had lost my Clemson ring from 1991. Long story short, my son found it this past week in the corner of one of my duffle bags! No idea how it got there, but I guess that's how it got lost! Super happy to finally have my ring back so now I have mine, and we have my dad's and my grandfather's and my brother has his.

The question is this - when he found it, the black enamel on the top of the ring, at the open side of the C, was bubbled up and eventually chipped off, leaving a gap there. I saw on some other posts when I searched the Tnet forums that the Clemson bookstore will fix the onyx for free on newer rings, but wasn't sure about the older enamel. Can a local place do it or do I have to send if off to the bookstore? Thanks!

Find out which company made the ring and go to them. They will fix it. I can’t think of the company that makes them. Maybe jostens but don’t quote me on that

Balfour made mine last year***

It was Herff Jones in the mid 80's.

Note to anyone who has a ring from Jostens, they have a store in Greenville on the same road as Wade Hampton HS.

The manufacturer can replace it. I had mine replaced a few years ago. I don’t remember the cost, but it wasn’t too bad. I think it took about a month.

Balfour was the ring company in 68.

They fixed mine a couple of years ago. Reasonable charge.

I've had some repair issues over the years with my ring('68)and had the complete stone replaced.the ring was made by balfour,so I sent it back to them, and I can't at enough good things about dealing with them.so based on my experience, consider sending it back to whomever was the manufacturer.on the brighter side,at least you found it.don't know what i'd do if my ring was lost.consider it one of my most prized possessions.it's either on my hand or in my safe.hope you get it repaired soon.
