does CVS Pharmacy give you free money every week?

Does this happen to you? Or am I in some sort of glitch?

I haven't shopped at CVS in way over a year, just not a place I ordinarily go. With their Sick Clinic in the back, I don't really wanna be around the flu/Covid-ridden. I've had one of their shopper cards for long time (along with with many others, you kinda got to these days). But 3 weeks ago, for some reason I stopped in there and bought some deodorant. Cashier receipt spit out a bunch of coupons, including 2 different "Extra Bucks" for $2 each. I supposed at the time an incentive since I hadn't been in there in forever.

The next day I got an e-mail for another $4 reward (string attached was I had to spend it within 7 days). So that's $8 total. I spent about $6 total on the deodorant. OK.

I needed some shampoo so I went in and got shampoo and some leftover Valentines M&Ms. For free. Spent the $8 of coupons.

I get another $2 coupon at register. And another $3 coupon e-mailed to me. $5 more. So I go "buy" a big bag of cashews with that free $5. And get yet ANOTHER $2 Extra Bucks printout.

Now I just get another $4 coupon e-mailed to me. $6 more to spend this week. Not sure what I need but I'm sure I can find $6 worth of something in there.

Will this ever stop? Hope not. That initial $6 has provided me with $8+$5+$6 of free stuff so far.

I've been getting free toilet paper from CVS for decades.

It ain't the best. Actually, it's terrible. But it's free.

First rule of drug dealing

Always give the first bit away for free. Once you got them hooked, the money starts piling up.

My mom plays that game all the time

“Gotta go to CVS before these coupons expire, when can you drive me?“
“What do you need?”
“I don’t know but I’ll find something “

I guess most people don’t keep up with it or they are hoping you’ll move your prescriptions there which is where the big money is.

so they are unknowingly swinging at air.

But surely the day will come when I will eventually have to get one. And they know that for anyone who lives long enough, some malady will overtake them.

Brilliant move by CVS, actually.

Eventually, you'll catch Covid in there and once they get you in their CVS intensive care unit on a ventilator, they'll bleed you dry while you lie in the CVS hospital bed unable to say anything about it with a tube down your throat.

$#it is so overpriced there that they're still making money

Feb 24, 2022, 10:15 AM

when you use their $4 off coupon.

Call it the Kohl's model. People use a 30% off coupon to purchase overpriced crap and they think they're getting a deal.

There's something in these hills.

Knew someone in retail years ago. Rule was, Clothing, 400% markup, Cosmetics, 800% markup. Meds today? Probably well over %1000
