Re: Big 12 football: How to assimilate Clemson & Florida State

Why would anyone in their right mind want to go to the big fail conference? It is a conference that is only surviving because outside of Texas and OU, no one wants any of those teams, and Texas and OU can't leave because they have certain step children that they have to take with them (Baylor, Tech, and now TCU for Texas and Okie State for OU). Conferences are trying to take pieces from the ACC because they are disireable, and that's actually a good thing if we have a commish who knew how to negotiate TV deals. You don't hear of the Big 10 trying to poach ISU, KSU or the other 6 midgets in that conference.

I understand the problems with the ACC, and for the most part they begin and end with Swoffie because he is truly in over his head, but the teams and brands in the ACC are far superior to the teams and brands of the big fail.

I would be ok with Clemson leaving the ACC, but not for the big 12. One thing I loved as a college student was traveling to away games and if you go to the big 12, the closest game you have other that FSU is WVU.

The travel issue is a concern. But

if the whispers about UNC, VT, Duke, NC State, UVA and GT are true, I don't see us having any other choice but to go to the Big 12.Do you?

Another whining idiot with low pulse.

Any of you conference whiners need to shut your pie holes and spend a few hours on a WVU board to see how much they are whining about being their(BIG12). Those you constantly whining about the ACC should first check Forbes to see how was actually paid out this year, stay away from pie in the sky projections, then spend a little time on the Louisville boards to see how happy they are to be coming to our conference. The same crap around here from the same poster, when over and over you been proven wrong is hysterical.

This just proves that anyone can have a blog.***

I'm still not getting the grass is greener argument

I agree with Dabo - we can win the national championship in the ACC. We're fine here and need to focus on making the ACC stronger.

Big12 is just TX and OK. They don't want real competition. Like the Big10, they would just want TV money.

The SEC is really Alabama at this point. It stands for See Everyone Chase Alabama.

The ACC had the same bowl record as the SEC. Yes the ACC desperately needs to get rivalry week turned around. But other than that week, the SEC plays almost all pansies so their reputation can't be sullied. .

If anything the Big12 and ACC need to team and challenge the press on whole SEC worship. Why didn't Louisville jump Florida, or at least move farther up, after beating them - and Florida fall farther? In the past that would have happened. Why doesn't an SEC fall like teams from the ACC and Big12 when barely beating a pansie. That's what needs to change too.

I agree with this. The ACC has made some moves that have strengthened the conference. Especially adding five games against Notre Dame. Syracuse, Pitt and Louisville aren't Alabama. But, they are certainly equal to Tenn., SC, Miss State, etc. And in basketball, good Lord. I will bet anyone on here that in five years the ACC will be WELL respected.
